Moon Tree

There is a place on Earth where a tree grows. It glows at night when the sun is gone. Its magical energy comes from the moon. We call it 'Moon Tree'. It glows with magical colours floating around with particles that fall to the ground but not touching. I hear that when you taste it, it tastes like cotton candy. The tree is said to be hidden and the only way to find it is if you follow the moons call. Only the chosen ones can hear its call. Sadly I can't hear it. I hear no voice and no call. Was this just a pretend story or am I just not lucky to hear it?

I had a friend who heard its call. I was so excited, but then they told me I couldn't go. I tried to follow but I lost track of them so I had to go back. I haven't seen them since and I haven't heard from them. I heard that the path is rough when the Moon Tree calls you. Maybe my friend never made it, or maybe they are lost, or maybe they are... I shouldn't continue. Wherever my friend is, they better be having the time of their life. I tend to wonder what the voice of the Moon Tree is like. Some say it's peaceful and some say it's beautiful. No matter what I do, I never hear it's call. To hear its call you have to be pure of heart. What have I done to have no pure heart? I have helped others and I have behaved well. What is it that I have done wrong?

I try and try all day and night to hear the call. I even want to follow the next person who hears the call as well. Was that what I'm doing wrong? Am I meant to follow them? The next person to head out to follow the call, I will follow them. I need to keep a low profile and pack for my journey. I don't see them pack anything but from when I followed my friend I realized I needed some things. I Don't understand why my friend was pure of heart. They stole from the Royal Market. What am I missing?

Last night I heard of someone that heard the call. They leave soon so I have to prepare. I pack a lot of food and pack a lot of water. I pack many clothes and I pack some matches just in case there is a need for a fire. I am prepared. I see them leaving following the path that heads West. So I tag along a little behind. I realize I forgot a weapon to save myself from the Beasts ahead.

The winds get heavy like when I followed my friend. The clouds are blackened by a storm that never moves. I wrap a heavy jacket around me so the storm doesn't pick me up and take me away. The one that hears the call walks like there is nothing to see. I run a little closer when they turn to see me fall.

Their eyes are blackened darker than the storm. They are darker than anything I have seen before. Their skin is pale white like a ghost from the story of the 'Drowned Rivered'. I shake with fear and my jacket flys off. I grab a twig that's in the ground stopping myself from flying. They stand there like they don't care. They walk closer with the walk of a dead person. I scream with the voice I have but not even I can hear it over the loud winds and thunder. Until I am blown away from them grabbing my hand with a cold wet touch. When they touched me it felt like I was holding my mother when she was murdered and taken away from me, being drowned by someone in our bathtub. I will never forget that.

I close my eyes to look away from the world when I hear the soft sound of a woman singing next to my ear and sung this to me softly like a message.

Close your eyes

Don't you cry

Your tears are meant for more

Your just a child

In the wild

Go home to your family

You're all alone

With no home

Walk to your family

They need you now

And you need them

Don't leave them again

There is no 'Moon Tree'

So forget about it

I open my eyes slowly to see no women but my home village in the distance. I turn to see behind me, the Storm I was just in. I cry a little until I remember what the women said. Don't you cry, your tears are meant for more. Somehow that made me stop and I breathe a little loud. Wait I didn't even breathe loudly. I turned to see a beast that I was trying to avoid and I ran towards my village. I realize if I run to my village then its focus will go towards it instead of me. I turn my head towards the Beast and I drop down to the ground to let it run past me. I get up and run towards the storm. It looks up at the clouds and runs back into the forest to the left.

I run a little away from the forest and head towards the village. I run to the gates and see everything destroyed. The buildings and the park, everything. I see the clouds from the storm growing big and spreading outwards every direction. I feel the winds getting stronger and stronger. Until a plank of wood flies and smashes me in the head, forcing me to fall to the ground and before my eyes closed I see them. The one who I followed before I flew walking up to me again and says a name that I remember slightly. Natila. That's when I knew as my eyes closed that the Moon Tree is a source of evil and my Friend... Natila is now darker than stealing from the Royal market.
