Yael's P.O.V.
I awoke to the feeling of being on a fluffy cloud. It felt like I was back in Heaven, I felt safe and warm-
I bolted up.I fell from Heaven, I can't be back! I thought, looking around frantically. I wasn't on a cloud, but rather a bed, a soft and comfy bed. The room was dark, the black curtains were closed shut, stopping the morning light from spilling in.
Oh, right. I fell from Heaven and Jade found me. I recalled.
I found a dress sitting on the edge of the bed. I softly stepped onto the cold floorand put it on, it fit perfectly. I heard the voices of three people downstairs, one of them was familiar, Jade. I decided to listen to their conversation for a minute before I went down myself.
"Honey," The female voice started,"we don't even know what she is. She could be an enemy for all we know."
"Son, come on. There's always a second chance mate, or a female werewolf who isn't your mate but loves you the same. That girl can't possibly-"
"SHE IS MY MATE!" Jade roared, making me flinch from the door.
You should go down, the tiny voice inside me said. However, the logical part said I should run. I bit my lip, deciding to go down.
I opened the door, it squeaked in protest but it seemed the people downstairs couldn't hear it. I shut it as quietly as I could and silently walked down the steps. I peered around the corner, watching Jade talk to a male and a female. I figured they were his parents.
"Son, calm down. I understand she's your mate and you love her, but please, think about this rationally. We don't even know what she is." His father reasoned.
Jade huffed, and I could sense the anger radiating off him.
"Sweetie, please. How about we just talk about this calmly." His mother pleaded.
What is a mate? Is that some endearing term or something? Why was Jade calling me that? I pondered.
"THERE IS NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT!" Jade boomed.
I took a step back, frightened by his anger. The floorboard creaked loudly and everyone in the room turned and looked at me in surprise. I bit my lip harder as I stood there.
"Mate...." Jade whispered.
He began walking towards me and I felt like running. My body wasn't quite ready to run though, so I squeezed my eyes shut, preparing for the worst.
I was shocked when I felt his arms come around me tightly, he was hugging me. He breathed in my smell, and for some reason I felt safe with him. I hesitantly wrapped my arms around him too. I looked over his shoulder, and his parents were staring at me. I couldn't tell if they were mad, so I held Jade closer, afraid.
I guess somehow he could tell I was scared, so he looked at his parents and scowled.
"Well... now that your mate is here... can we ask her some questions?" His dad asked.
Jade glared at them, but looked at me with concern and love. "Do you think you can answer some questions?"
I really wanted to say no, but I feel like I've been too much of a burden, so I nodded my head.
Jade smiled at me and led me towards the couch. His parents sat in the seat next to it and Jade sat next to me.
"Let us introduce ourselves first. I'm Erik, my wife here is Christie." He explained. Christie smiled warmly at me, that relieved me a little."My son, Jade, told me your Yael." He said and I nodded.
"So," He started,"what exactly are you?"
This question got asked a lot... I sighed. I looked at them. Jade is going to tell me to get out when he knows, I guess I had a nice time here though.
"I'm a fallen angel. I just fell from heaven..." I closed my eyes. I didn't want to see the shock and anger on their face which I was sure was there.
"If you don't want me here," I continued, my voice started to tremble,"I-I can go..."
I was engulfed in a hug from Jade again. I breathed out unsteadily. Why isn't he angry? I wondered.
"No, stay. Just because your different doesn't mean I love you any less. You are my mate, after all." He said.
"If you don't mind me asking.. what is a 'mate'?" I asked, nervously glancing at them, in case I asked something wrong.
They looked between themselves with bewilderment evident on their faces.
"Yael," I turned towards Christie,"a mate is a soulmate. Each and every werewolf has a mate. The mates are our destined ones, they were chosen by the moon goddess."
"Wait...," I frowned,"what's a werewolf?"
"Remember those wolves you saw earlier?" Jade asked. I nodded, I do. They tried to eat me!
"We kind of are them..." He smiled nervously, rubbing his neck.
I frowned in confusion. He is the wolves? What?
"What my son is trying to say... we turn into wolves. On our 16th birthday we find the wolves deep inside us and we experience our first shift. Then we can shift whenever we please." Erik explained.
"Wait..." I murmured, standing up and backing away,"wait..."
"Shh shh. It's okay, we will never hurt you." Jade got up and wrapped me in his arms again, he looked afraid, like he would break if I hated him.
"Why do I feel so comfortable around you?" I asked innocently, sighing contently in his grasp.
"That's the mate bond. We feel drawn to each other, we are mates." He replied.
I calmed down considerably. Yeah, they literally turned into wolves, but I was a fallen angel. I can't exactly be judgmental.
Erik and Christie looked at each other and smiled.
"We don't think your a bad girl, Yael. Please treat my son well." Christie beamed at me. I couldn't help but return it. They accepted me, even if I am a fallen. I didn't quite understand it, but I got the feeling I would be staying.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was really tired when I wrote this, sorry if it is cheesy or anything lol.
