POV: Cole

Slamming my sword down into the throat of my opponent, I tune out the cheers of the crowd as I begin my trek back towards the bellies of the arena. However, before I can make it I am stopped by the sight of white mist which I have learned to associate with the Moon Goddess. With that being said however, instead of seeing the Moon Goddess herself, I feel an intense pull as if the mist is guiding me into it. Fighting back my panic, I drop my sword just as the mist completely consumes me and transports me to my new destination.

Landing in an all-white throne room, I drop to my knee in a bow when I catch sight of my Goddess herself sitting upon her throne. "Rise Cole." She instructs catching me a little off guard. During every interaction we have had thus far, The Moon Goddess has addressed me as Alpha and very rarely by my birth name.

"Do you know what today is?" My Goddess questions me as she stands from her throne and descends the few stairs until she is standing 10 feet away from me. When I don't respond she clicks her tongue and smiles at me mockingly. Her attitude causes me to become wary of her next words, but I school my features and hide my unease as she begins to speak once again.

"This date three years ago, you first entered my gladiator arena meaning you Colton Richards have officially set the record for the Alpha who has remained standing the longest." Her words cause sweet relief to flow through my bloodstream. I did it. I paid my time and now I will get to return home to my mate.

"Congratulations Abbadon." Her words cause me to choke and I am surprised by the sadistic smile that overtakes the Goddess' features. I concluded many years ago that she wasn't as innocent as she appeared to be; her billowing blonde hair and pure white robes didn't fool me. She may be my Goddess, and I respect her, but I learned years ago that a beast lives inside her and she is not one who should have my trust.

"You are very observant Colton, therefore I will not be surprised if you have deduced my secret." She closes the distance between us and runs her long, manicured nails down my cheek before stepping back and vocalizing her thought.

"If you remember back to your first fight, the man you killed, Gabriel, was the longest standing Alpha before you." She twirls and I am reminded of the crazy that overtook my father my mother died. The Moon Goddess seems to have the same gleam in her eyes that he did back then.

"Gabriel was more than just my champion Cole, he was my lover." Her words surprise me, I remember her speaking highly of the man, but I did not come to the conclusion that the feral man shared our Goddess' bed. Thankful that I have mastered the craft of schooling my thoughts, I make no response to the Goddess' announcement.

Once again approaching my personal space The Moon Goddess grins up at me as she plays with the ties of her white silk robe. "If you bed me Colton, I will allow you to return to the realm of the living." She follows her words by untying the ribbon at her waist allowing the garment to drop, leaving the Goddess standing nude before me.

Our background changes to what I assume must be her bedding chambers. Taking advantage of the change of scenery, The Moon Goddess walks backwards until the back of knees hit the bed. Just as gracefully as she walks, she sinks to her back on the bed, expecting me to follow and proceed with her order.

Refusing to move any closer to the naked woman who is not my mate, I shift my body language to stand taller, calling forth my stoic confidence that made others respect me. "I will not. If you recall correctly my Goddess my sole purpose of wanting to regain my life was so I could return to my mate. My heart belongs to her, my soul belongs to her. I was raised with morals my Goddess and I refuse to disrespect my mate in such a way by laying with another."

The Moon Goddess sits up on the bed, but doesn't dress herself. Angry about how she is proceeding with this interaction, I begin to talk again before she has the chance to speak. "When I first arrived here you told me that fate was wrong, that I wasn't meant to die. You told me I could gain my freedom by completing a quest and it has been completed. Not to sound disrespectful My Goddess, but if you intend to follow through with your word, it is time for me to regain my life and be sent home."

Allowing the bubbling anger I am feeling to seep into my voice as I speak, I have no remorse over utilizing a venomous tone with the woman I am meant to consider holy, who I am meant to worship. Making the decision that from this day forward, there would be only one woman who I would ever worship, my mate, I decide to cut religion out of my life. The Moon Goddess is not worthy of my divine servitude.

Heaving a grand sigh, The Moon Goddess flicks her wrist and the white mist that transported me here appears before me. "You are one of the best I have ever had the pleasure of meeting Alpha Richards. Although you may not be my biggest friend, I will admire you for the rest of your existence. You are right that you have earned the privilege of returning home, despite the fact that she doesn't deserve you." Before I can ponder her final words, the white mist surrounds me, transporting me one final time.

I am returning home, the moment I have been fighting for, dreaming of, for the past almost four years is upon me and I couldn't be any more grateful. Relief courses through my veins as I whisper to my lover that I will soon be by her side.
