I looked out at the dark sky before me as I was magnetized to my best, yet unusual friend Bay Max's back. His armor was a shiny new red due to my continuous cleaning. It's shine grew in the town's everlasting lights that varied like the rainbows after a rainstorm.
His body heat radiated from underneath his armor in an attempt to warm me from the cold rain that was falling on my own dirty armor. Even through this heavy armor of mine I was could feel the bitter cold of the drops.
We were on a lookout for a flying helicopter that was carrying tons of stolen gold and cash. Something about this put me on the edge of my seat but I didn't let it get to me. I imagined the
deadly chopping devices used to fly that thing and I almost threw up.
“Look!” I pointed out and Bay Max looked at where I was indicating for him to search. Just as I pointed it out someone started shooting at us and I forced Bay Max to lower himself so we weren't in range. After about two seconds of waiting I looked up and say a man with a machine gun in his hand and pointing it right at us.
“Hiro,” Bay Max said in his robotic voice, “be careful with those moving objects up there.”
“I know!” I said and the person started to shoot again. They were pretty darn serious about keeping their stuff safe.
I steered Bay Max towards the person and they backed away in fear. We landed inside of the helicopter and it tilted slightly. I picked up the machine gun that the person had dropped and threw it out the side making sure he couldn't get it anymore.
The person cowered to the floor with his hands in the air and I headed for the front of the plane. Just as we made it to the front a large crash that caused the wall to come in on me and I fell in agony.
“Max!” I called out hoping to find him standing there where he was before. Instead I saw nothing and I turned around to the person flying. There was no one there.
I heard someone screaming for help as they fell from the aircraft and I noticed that the door was wide open. I looked out and I held my breath as fear surged through me. Just as he was about to hit the building below him a large white blur caught him.
“Max!” I called out and he flew back up.
“Hiro,” He repeated and I let that long breath out as he soared over to the helicopter and I took the man inside. I looked back at Max and reached out my hand for him to grab but pulled back instantly and I gasped in horror.
A helicopter had come out of nowhere and its sharp, spinning choppers made their horrifying sounds. Then came another sound...the sound of metal breaking and a balloon inflating.
“MAX!” I screamed and I cried out in horror. What I was seeing couldn't be real. Max's eyes were completely shut and his whole body was inflated. I reached out trying to find the real Max, hoping this was all an illusion. As I was reaching my body was pulled down and I screamed in terror as the fear and shock made me heavier.
I landed with a large crash and my whole body went numb with shock for only a second. Then the pain spread through my body and tears streamed down my face.
“AHHH!” I screamed, when I cried blood started to spew from my mouth and I realized in the fall my helmet had fallen off and it came landing into my stomach and I curled up in pain.
What was going on? Where was Max?
Max... Max was...
An inflated object fell over my face and I pulled it off in an instant. It was a leg... the leg of my very best, yet unusual friend.
