A Queen's Game (Lauren/You)

Operation...(Chapter 7)

A/N: Aye Yo. Guess who's back. In all honesty I stopped writing cause I didn't want to but I'm feeling a push to write and finish this story but I still want to produce the best story for you guys cause I love you so. Enjoy :)

(Y/N)'s P.O.V
To say I was a little surprised by Lauren's outburst was an understatement. A very large one at that. I obviously took too long to respond as I notice how my mate's eyes drooped in embarrassment and a small red hue was starting to appear on her cheeks.

"N-never mind. It was a stupid thing to suggest."

"No...No Lauren. I'm sorry, it's just that you caught me off guard." With my own small chuckle, it seemed to calm the woman down as her own giggle flooded the room and my ears.

"Don't get me wrong, I want to have a family with you. Of course I do...it's just that...maybe now isn't the best time." I tried to persuade my mate but all I seemed to get in return was a gloomy look.

"If you want to have a baby, then I'll give you one but...I want to be sure that you and the baby will be safe." My wolf, Nova grumbled lowly at the thought of our mate and child being in danger. It even made me feel slightly sick.

"With the rebels around and causing chaos, I just don't think it's a good idea to have one now."

"You're right...I'm sorry." The glum look on my mate's face made my heart clench, Nova already beginning to whimper at the sight. It made me bring the smaller girl into my arms as her small hands gripped onto my t shirt whilst her body pressed up against my own.

"It's just that...seeing you play with the pups made me feel happy. To see you so carefree...it was nice to see." Lauren looked up towards me, her eyes now glazed over with love and adoration. I couldn't help but press a gentle kiss to her forehead.

"I don't mind big tough Alpha," This made me chuckle lightly, a slight purr emitting from my mate's lips, "But to see you so...calm...it was refreshing."

There was no doubt that Lauren was right. She always is. With everything going on with the rebels and then Dinah and Normani coming out of nowhere has just put me at edge, meaning that I've been on my guard 24/7.

Lauren soon slumped into my arms, her head resting on my chest whilst my fingers interlaced themselves in her hair, playing with it mindlessly. Lauren didn't seem to mind at all; if anything, she melted more into my touch.

"I promise you Lauren...I don't know when but...I want to have a family with you."

My words resonated around the room and was the last thing that was said between us as Lauren was already in a deep sleep. I couldn't help but sigh heavily.

'What am I gonna do with her...'

"The rebels presence has been significantly strong in the eastern section of our borders-" My mind started to drift slight as Camila was giving me updates about our rebel situation. In all honesty, this is what my job as an Alpha and Queen was at the moment; checking on our borders, making sure we were secure and if we had any rebel prisoners to deal with them accordingly. 

I never wanted to emit any violence like I knew Lauren's father was used to during his rule. My rule was one that was meant to be of peace, and I was determined to keep that promise for as long as I could. However, these rebels were just starting to test my patience.

"We don't know yet who is behind the rebellions but its definitely someone who has some level of organisation-" Even just that thought made my wolf, Nova, growl. She hated the thought of our enemy having the slightest advantage and to be frank, I agreed with her whole heartedly. 

Dinah looked in my direction, her shuffling uncomfortably in her place. My eyes drifted around the room and couldn't help but noted a collected uncomfortable aura in the room. Realising that my Alpha aura was rippling in waves, I closed my eyes in order to collect myself, taking a couple of deep breaths before looking towards Camila apolitically.

"I'm sorry. It's just, I thought that maybe once I became Queen that things would of been easier. If anything, it's just got harder." I noticed how Camila's eyes softened at my bummed out tone and a small warming chuckle left her lips. 

"I get it (Y/N). You never expect to become Queen of the supernatural and now, it's all of a sudden been thrown into your face." A smile slowly crept to my own features as my wolf was soothed at Camila's understanding. It was almost like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders. "Just know, that Ally, Dinah and I are always going to be here for council." 

I was truly grateful of my cousin at times, this being one more moment to add. 

"Yeah, and when Normani comes around, she'll be here for you as well." I could hear the slight whimper in Dinah's tone once she mentioned Normani. She's obviously still coming to terms that Werewolves weren't all that bad. To be honest, I always believed Vampires were the worst. 

Perhaps Normani knows a lot about the Rebellions.

"That's it!"My eyes widened as realisation hit me like a freight train. There was a number of concerned looks around the room, one especially from Dinah. "If Normani was apart of the Rebellion, then perhaps she knows what their plans are." How the hell did we not think of this sooner. 

"It makes perfect sense..." Ally muttered underneath her breath, her hand over her mouth as she processed my comment. Looking back up to me, she had the brightest smile I've ever seen her wear. "It makes sense!" 

"We just need to persuade her that all Werewolves aren't all that bad. Bring her over to our side and once that is done, we'll have an advantage over the Rebels. She could tell us how the rebels fight, what their strategy is. We could outsmart them." 

"We maybe able to find who the leader is..." I husked out, all the little pieces finally falling into place.

"Then it's settled." Camila announced, her hands fixed to her hips whilst a smirk was plastered to her lips. 

"Operation Norminah is on." I couldn't help but chuckle lightly at her comment but what made me burst out into fits of laughter was Dinah's face, which was engulfed in a flame red. 

This better work...
