READY FOR SOME ACTION?
CHAPTER 1
This is the story of a 14-year-old girl, with the name of Embri. Her life was a token of fate, she was miserable most of the time. She normally just walks around town, trying to be a normal girl.
She walks with her hands in her hoodie pockets and looks at the ground, walking.. walking. She usually bumps into people,
*BUMP* "Ah! Sorry!" Embri would say.
"Watch it!" They would respond.
Embri's life isn't filled with joy and love, like most people's. Her's is rather hate and misfortune. She lives in a cave with her mother and father, who she has never seen before. He always hides from her and makes excuses. She isn't happy with her life until......
"Do do do.." Embri hummed to herself while walking down the sidewalk near an empty field. Her only friend, Kayla, was behind her. "Hey, Embri?" she asked. Embri stopped humming and walking and looked at her. The air was full of mist and there was a faint breeze. Embri sniffed the air, curious if she smelled food. But all she took in were the fishy scents from the lake on the other side of the field. She shook her head, trying to focus on her friend.
"Yeah?" She responded hesitantly. Her swift, knee-long, curly, black hair waved in the wind. And Kayla looked nervously at her like she wanted to say something but at the same time didn't want to.
"Why don't you free the person inside you?" Kayla stood there then quietly added, "I'll turn into a bat, or bird if you want." Embri looked at her and then her eyes looked at the cold, hard, concrete ground. She tightly closed her eyes and moments later an angel wing appeared on the left side of her and a demon wing on the right. Then horns popped out from behind her head and her halo, which was around her neck pretending to be a necklace, slipped off just to float above her head.
"Happy..?" Embri stared at Kayla, and she nodded. Embri looked at the sky and the fishy smell and mist hit her once again. She breathed in it and breathed out. She looked calm if i do say so myself. She looked at the other side of the street because, well, she's always curious. But there was no one there anyway.
"So..." Kayla sighed and flipped her short, blonde hair...
"I'm gonna go practice flying!" Embri piped up, and she started mildly floating off the ground using her wings. She started going higher in the air but Kayla grabbed her feet and pulled her down.
"Not without me!" Kayla immaturely yelled.
"Nice try! But you'll never get me!" Embri teased. She loved hanging out with Kayla, it made her feel happy. It was like she never wanted to go home.
They continued to giggle and fight 'playfully'.
"You want to play a game!?" Kayla asked Embri excitedly.
"Sure!" Embri giggled, "How do you play?"
"So, the game is that... um. I don't know how to explain it... maybe, oh! I know, I'll act it out! Okay, so I'll stay here and you fly up there." Embri nods and follows her directions. "Now you come down and try to take me off the ground, into the air!" Kayla reaches her hands up into the air.
Embri flies up a little higher and swoops down to grab her, like a falcon catching a fish from the water, lifting her up into the sky. Embri wraps her arms around Kayla's chest and flies up, up, up! They appear in the sky, the breeze hitting them while her wings beat loudly and they fly higher.
