He had practically known she'd wear blue despite her not telling him she would. It felt like the natural color choice for him to match with. And indeed she had opened her door for him wearing a blue draping gown he hadn't yet seen. Equipped with long, off the shoulder sleeves it it looks divine on her body. And the white shoulder scarf she had chosen matched her choice in other accessories. White rose shaped earrings with a little pearl as well as a matching necklace, made of gold. After locking her house she follows him to his car. "What opera shall we be watching?" "Watch and see." She had chuckled upon their arrival. Hannibal. The opera to the legendary man who lead his men across the alps with elephants and forced the romans to their knees. A lot of people she recognises already have arrived and are now all staring at the car they were still sitting in. He gets out, steps around the vehicle and helps her out of the car, neither of them paying attention to the small gasps heard behind them. Her small purse in one hand and the other holding Hannibal's they walk up to the opera house and enter. Mayburn herself makes a point to greet them. "Welcome! Hannibal. Won't you introduce us?" "Saturn, my dear, this is my friend and one of my colleagues from the board members of the city orchestra, Helena Mayburn. Miss Mayburn, this is my date Saturn Atlas." "I have heard so much about you, Miss Atlas. You made quite a headline when you stepped back from the head of hospital position." "I decided the position wasn't worth my health and now work with biochemics instead.", she smiles, shaking Mayburns hand.  "Fascinating. And you have snatched up our dear Hannibal here.." "More like the other way around if I am honest. I would have lacked the confidence to just openly ask him out." "Oh. Really now? Hannibal is a charmer, isn't he?" "That he is. Though I feel like he is enjoying to tease me from time to time." He casts her an amused glance, resulting in her nodding towards him. "Yes. That smile right there. You are planning something again." "That I am." He swiftly pulls her into his arms and leans down to her. "Would you spend the night at mine? I would love for you to be there." Her jaw drops slightly and she flushes a violent red. "Hannibal! Not again!", she says, quickly covering her burning face while Helena is laughing into her hand, the woman blushing as well. The cannibal leans down, inhaling the fresh scent of her hair, then nudges her gently. She slowly looks up and he places a kiss on her lips. One she responds to. Its only a short kiss, but both know it wouldn't be the last. "You two are such a perfect match I knew the moment I first saw you talk.", Helena says and both parts of the couple look at her in amusement. Finally they enter the opera. With Saturn by his side the killer feels even more confident. She was seemingly a perfect living alibi. One worth more than a while. Taking their seats they wait until the show begins. It looks great. Very much like it would have looked during the height of Opera. Just the voice of one of the background singers comes out constantly flawed. A fact that angers him immensely. He wanted perfection for the first date he took her on. Not.. This. He wanted atmosphere. Like they had at that small concert. A hand slides into his and gently brushes its thumb over his skin, relaxing him in seconds. He didn't know people could effect him in such a way. He looks over to her, as she casts him small, assuring smile. She leans over to him. "He annoys me to. But just ignore him and its great again.", she smiles, gently kissing his cheek, before turning back towards the stage. He smiles to himself and kisses her hand before placing their joined hands in her lap.
After the show, not in the desperate mood to speak to anyone, they still say their goodbyes to everyone for that was just what politeness demanded and then leave. At Hannibals place they get out of the car. "You'll be surprised what I have prepared." "Can I help you in the kitchen in any way?", she asks softly. He shakes his head. "My dish includes preparing fresh meat." "Well... That's enough of an answer. I'm sorry that I can't be very helpful." "You are already helpful by just being here." She smiles. "Could you lean down for a moment?" He does. And she places a kiss on his lips. A sweet one. One that actually manages to make him smile. "What was that for? Not that I don't appreciate it.. But how am I deserving of such care?" "You are being so caring and sweet I couldn't resist." "Well.. Neither can I." There they were. Standing in the hallway, not a single care in the world. Exchanging kisses, until he simply lifts her up. He carries her into the living room where he has her sit in his lap as they continue to kiss.
Leaning back a bit he glances at her soft face. Smooth and beautiful. Lips ever so slightly swollen. He was glad she only wore a moisturizing lipstick or else he'd be wearing it too by then. Gently he runs his thumb across her cupids bow as her lips pull up into a smile. And if Hannibal was honest he could barely remember kissing anybody like he had kissed her before. Usually it was with the intend to seduce them, put them under his spell.. He knew he could do it. He knew how the mind worked. How nimble it was. But her he kissed with the intend of binding her to him. Even more so than he had already done. He saw it in her eyes. In all her innocence was more than curiosity or interest. There was adoration. For him. And he would use it for himself. because this was the very person he thought would be able to truly enrich his life in a way that others hadn't been able to.
They had just been quiet for a moment, looking into each others eyes. The clueless prey looking into its predators eyes with admiration and naive fearlessness. Then her eyes close as she leans into his touch. He presses his lips against her forehead, then wraps her up in his arms, the meat in his fridge forgotten.
