Hope you chapter 36.

*5 hours later*

"Get up." Tom says waking me up.

"What the hell?"

"The cops are here. How did they find out?"

"Sir, Sean is nowhere to be found." Some guy says walking downstairs.

"God dammit, Sean." He says.

He then starts taking me up the stairs. I start fighting, but a stronger, more muscular guy easily picks me up and prevents me from struggling.

"Take her to the car out back." Tom orders.

The man nods before carrying me to the backyard with Tom and another muscular guy following behind.

The guy who isn't holding me gets in the driver side and as soon as Tom gets in and closes the door, he speeds off.

The police notices Tom trying to get away and starts chasing us.

I punch the muscular guy holding me and get free. I quickly open the door and was about to jump, when it gets slammed shut because of a sharp turn the driver made and I fall back inside and into the arms of the guy who was holding me.

"Tie her hands up." Tom orders.

I decided to start screaming bloody murder to see if I could distract the driver. I get slapped really hard in the face and the driver swerves before getting on track again.

"Keep it steady." Tom says to the driver.

We were soon chased to a ramp and the driver was going at least a hundred miles an hour.

That's when I feel the car start to lean.

"I can't control it." The driver says.

Tom quickly grabs the wheel to take over, but it's too late.

The car tilts so far to one side, it falls off the ramp before flipping over and over again.

I get flown from the car and since my hands are tied up, I couldn't catch myself.

I land really hard on the asphalt and I have a hard time seeing and my legs hurt really badly. So I try to crawl away.

Tom spots me and quickly limps over and grabs a hold of me just as the cops were coming.

"Surrender the girl and no one gets hurt." An officer says, I notice him to be one of the officers who questioned me the first time I got caught.

"I cannot do that." Tom says.

I look over to the now burning van and see the two muscular guys spread out on the ground, stained with blood and out cold.

"Why not?"

"I had made a promise to my dead friend to keep her safe."

"Give me the girl." The cop repeats.

I notice the fire getting larger. I try and get out of Tom's grip and that's when he puts his hands around my throat and squeezes, choking me.

"T-the car." I manage to call out.

The officers eyes widen.

"Everyone get back. It's going to blow."

Just as everyone took cover, the car explodes into a giant fireball, sending pieces flying in the air and going outwards.

Tom and I were too close to the car when it blew and one of the doors came speeding towards us. He shoves me forward and it slams into my face. Pain shoots through me and I collapse to the ground, everything going fuzzy and feel my the rapid beating of my heart in my ears.

Tom comes forward and grabs me. I'm too weak to fight and now I'm giving up.

"Nate. I tried. It's time to let her go. I'm sorry." Tom sighs.

He starts walking me over to a concrete column, the police start running over even faster.

"Goodnight, Brook." He says before slamming my head into the concrete column.

Tom collapses onto his knees next to my limp body and saying something before getting hauled back up by the police taking him away and me being carried by that one officer and onto a gurney before blacking out.
