Merlin barely slept that night, he had revealed himself to his siblings, he feared their reactions and prayed that somehow time would stop. Eventually, he fell asleep being lulled by the rain that had started sometime around 1. His sleep was not pleasant, and neither was his awaking, which contained an angry Arthur yelling at him about taking care of the Amorian Royals. The exact words the ended this rude awakening were, "You know, Merlin, I am assigning you to the Amorians relieving you of my tasks."

So disgruntledly, he made way to his old family's chambers and found them all to be fast asleep. This was no surprise, ten years with no bed was a long time, as much as he wanted to let them sleep there was going to be a feast in their honor and they had a lot to do. So pretending this was Arthur and attempting to forget what happened last night, he said in his most joyous voice, "Rise and Shine!"

Cordelia, who was closest to him, screamed, setting off alarm bells in the heads of the others. Of course, they all sighed, realizing it was just Merlin. He began to pass out the food he had brought for his old friends. Elaina stared at him while he cleaned the armor of the men. Elaina spoke suddenly, "You were with mother, and Will, if you survived, surely they did?"

Merlin looked to the floor in thought, then said, "Mother, Will, and I ran to a village called Ealdor. If we were to return to Amor, we would stop there for a night." Sir Arnold smiled. He cared dearly for Hunith, his little sister. Arnold had raised her since their father was long dead. Sam pressed more for information on the pair in Ealdor, and Merlin looked at him tragically, "Mother was hit by an enchanted arrow, and has no memory. Will, Will is dead." A shock wave hit the group. They had thought Merlin had got off easy compared to them. Merlin strolled over to his sisters carefully taking measurements and jotting them down quickly, once he was done he grabbed Arnold's cloak the only one amongst them. As he left, he whispered, "Father is Dead."

Merlin had busied himself with the cloaks after giving Gwen some measurements and color suggestions, it was painstaking work sewing the silver crest onto the cloaks, but he was skilled at this all he had with him when they had run oh so many years ago, was his birthday gift. The gift was two enchanted spools of blue and silver thread, and a needle that would always return to him. The spools of thread were enchanted, never to end. He finished the cloaks and tripped on his way to find Gwen about five times. Gwen handed him the dresses and he ran to his room, dropping the cloaks off as he sped past. Now the dresses were a different matter altogether. It was traditional on an Amorian's 8th birthday to give them an item that could turn into a weapon. Merlin's own was his needle, and as his father had died he had given his son the gifts meant for his sisters. So it was time these gifts were given. so he pulled out the two boxes, and scurried off excitedly.
