Secrets Left Untold

        It was a cold winters day when two best friends were walking home from school. Lily had noticed that Anna had been acting weird lately, so she had decided to confide in her friend to see what was wrong.

        "Anna you have been so distant lately. Whats up?" Lily asked worried

        "It's nothing. Dont worry about it." Anna replied.

        "Well i want to know whats wrong so i can help you. You're my best friend and i care about you." Lily explained

        "Okay well maybe there are secrets that are better left untold." Anna said while walking away.

        "Where are you going?" Lily asked.

        "Somewhere to think and where im not going to be questioned." Anna said coldly.

        Once Anna got far enough away that she couldnt see, Lily started to follow her. They waked about 2 blocks to an old abondoned building that they always played in when they were little. Anna went inside and Lily hid behind the wall and under the window so she could see what Anna was doing. Lily saw Anna sit down in the middle of the big room and start singing. It was the song that Anna's mother always sang to her before she went to bed. Anna's mother passed away a few years ago due to cancer and she missed her dearly. Then something weird happened. A figure of Anna's mom appeared. Anna's smile brightened as she saw her mother standing there for her to see. Then the worst thing that could ever happen happened, Lily fell and Anna heard. Anna ran outside and looked to see what had happened and saw Lily lying there on the ground.

        "Lily what are you doing here?!" Anna asked

        "I followed you because i wanted to know why you've been acting weird lately. Now i understand why. Why didnt you just tell me that you missed your mom? I wouldve understood. Anna we've been best friends since forever. I'm always here for you." Lily replied.

        "No Lily you dont understand. You have both your parents here with you and i only have my dad. I miss my mom so much that i cant even explain it. Everyone acts like they understand but they dont." Anna cried

        "Well how am i supposed to understamd when you dont tell me Anna! I tell you everything and you should tell me everything. Are there other things you arent telling me Anna? Huh? Like you have a new best friend or that you broke our promise to never having a boyfriend until senior year? Yeah, never occurred to you that i would find out?" Lily replied while walking away.

        "Lily wait!" Anna screamed

        "Why wait when my best friend doesnt even care anymore? Maybe secrets are better left untold." Lily cried while running off.

        Anna went back inside the building and sat in the middle of the room, on the cold, cold floor crying for her best friend.
