As I sit in my desk, cluttered with study notes and various equations and scribbles on loose pieces of paper, I diagnose myself with stage four boredom, which will become terminal without extensive treatment and therapy.

My back is sore, I have pins and needles in my left foot and I am super-duper thirsty. I crane my neck as to see the enemy leader, a grouchy teacher with fluffy, grey hair, and scaly skin starting to doze off. A girl across the room knocks a pen off her desk and our overlord awakens, breathing fire, incinerating any student within a metre radius. Rest in peace the fatalities of semester two exam block, you will never be forgotten… well not until holidays anyway.

We are in our fifth day of exams, or lack of, and I have been stuck in this stuffy, cage of a room for the past four hours. I am in desperate need of a feed, preferably the tuckshop’s famous Tuesday chicken burgers, and a healthy dose of fresh air and sunlight. It is here, at 12.16 pm, that I start to plan a form of escape from this torturous ordeal.
