It started like every other normal day, but just wait and see...

Beep Beep Beep

Naomi turned around in her bed to stare up at the taunting alarm clock.

"Time for school..."

She groaned in annoyance and kicked her feet off the side of her bed.

Why am I so tired today...? Whatever, I need to get ready.

She started her everyday morning routine and headed for the front door. She yelled a quick 'bye' to her mother and headed outside. Naomi looked up to see a familiar face waiting at her front steps.

"Hey Seiko!"

"Hey Naomi! Ready for school?"

Naomi nodded and started walking towards Kisaragi Academy with her friend, Seiko.

On the way the two girls talked and laughed. Naomi looked up to see their big school building.

At least it's Friday...

Naomi sighed and Seiko took notice.

"Hey Naomi, everything okay?"

"Eh? Oh yea...I'm just a bit tired. That's all." Naomi smiled softly to her.

"Okay then. Off to homeroom!" Seiko threw her arms over her head and started to run towards their classroom.

"Seiko wait up!" Naomi, too, started running after her friend towards homeroom.

"You'll just have to keep up!" Seiko yelled at Naomi.

I don't understand her at all... Naomi thought to herself and ran behind Seiko nonetheless.

They arrived at their classroom, set their things down, and sat in their seats. Naomi always sat next to the window towards the back of the classrom with Seiko right behind her.

Naomi sighed and looked down to her desk.

This is going to be a long day...

She was pulled from her thoughts when a small paper ball landed on her desk. She looked around confused and turned her attention back to the piece of paper. She opened it up and saw writing on it.

She read it quietly to herself, "I need to talk to you after school, Seiko."

I wonder what she wants...and why can't she just tell me now?

She shook the thoughts from her head and looked out the window just as her homeroom teacher, Ms. Yui, walked in.

The day passed on like every other while Naomi was still thinking about what Seiko had to say to her.

Why couldn't she just tell me? What if it's something bad?

She shook her head from her thoughts.

Stop it. It won't be something bad. Snap out of it.

It was last period. Naomi kept looking up to the clock and waiting for the final bell to ring.

Five minutes later and the bell rang. Naomi shot from her seat, grabbed her stuff, and rushed to the courtyard where Seiko had told her to meet her.

Naomi got outside and leaned against a wall waiting for Seiko to arrive. In a short couple minutes Seiko showed up acting a little strange.

She seems...off... I wonder what's up.

Naomi sighed and looked up to her best friend. From the looks of it Seiko was very nervous about what she was about to tell Naomi. Naomi just hoped for the best and held her breath.

"I know you're wondering why I told you to meet me here and why I couldn't tell you in class, but you'll see why."

Seiko inhaled a deep breath and spoke.

"Naomi, I love you. I've always had loved you and I always will. I know you probably think this is wierd, but please just listen."

Naomi was wide-eyed at what just came out of Seiko's mouth, but kept her mouth shut and listend to her friend.

"I really do, Naomi. I would do anything for you and even you know that. I don't know what I'd do without you...and frankly I don't want to think about it!"

Seiko looked down to her feet anxiously.

"I just hope you won't hate me after this. Even if you don't like me back I just want to be your friend. Please don't get rid of me, Naomi..."

Seiko noticed that Naomi hadn't said anything and was still very shocked.

"Naomi...?"

Seiko started to tear up. Without thinking Naomi ran in the opposite direction towards her house. She didn't know what she was doing. She didn't know what to do. She was lost right now, and run was all she could do.

She arrived at her house and ran inside only to lock herself up in her room.

"What do I do? I-I don't know what to do!"

She held her head in frustration and started to cry. Naomi had realized she had left Seiko alone at school and went wide-eyed.

She whispered to herself, "S-Seiko... I'm sorry..."

She dropped down on her bed and began to cry into her hands.

"What have I done?"
