The first thing Rory woke up to was the sweet aroma of coffee. The brunette peeled her eyes open, letting out a quiet groan as she slowly sat up. She had a pounding headache, and she didn't know whether it was because of the crying session she had over Skype with her boyfriend or the hangover that she had gotten from drinking most of her day away at the Grill. Her eyes squinted as they got accustomed to the sunlight, seeing the smiling faces of Bonnie and Caroline in front of her.

"Hey?" Rory questioned groggily, rubbing at her eyes. She felt a little sickly if she was being honest, so she wasn't sure if the coffee was really doing anything for her besides making her feel worse. Either way, she cupped it in her hands sluggishly. She wasn't surprised to see Bonnie in her room, but she had to admit, she didn't expect Caroline. "What are you guys doing here?"

"We heard what happened and we wanted to cheer you up," Bonnie responded.

"And I wanted to give you a sincere, heartfelt apology for what I said to you at the masquerade ball. It was so completely wrong of me, and I shouldn't have used your mental health against you like that," Caroline took Rory's hand in hers. "I don't expect you to forgive me so soon, but I seriously would like to make it up to you until you do. I love you so much, Aurora."

"Here's the deal—if you want me to forgive you, ever, don't call me Aurora again," Rory gave Caroline a baleful look, to which she replied with a cheeky grin—she knew that was what would catch Rory's attention. "And you better be prepared to do a lot of grovelling."

Caroline wrapped her arms around Rory's middle, resting her head against her chest. Bonnie took the other side of Rory, resting her head on her shoulder. "We tried to come into your room last night, but we heard you talking to your boyfriend and didn't want to interrupt," Bonnie said.

"Yeah," Rory bit her lip. "I just needed some unbiased advice from someone who had nothing to do with the supernatural, you know? Nik's... normal. And I need normal right now. I feel like everything's going topsy turvy right now."

"Never would've pegged you as the normal kind. If I'm not mistaken, you had a type," Caroline teased. Rory gave her a faux confused look. "Oh, come on, don't look at me like that. You totally had a type."

Rory groaned, pressing her palm against her forehead. Rory was a little bit of a... player back in high school. She would date anyone that was remotely attractive, wore a leather jacket, and had a nice car. First and foremost, though—he had to be a complete and utter ass. She didn't know why; she just had a type: dysfunctional and would 100% destroy her emotionally.

"Christ," Rory muttered, rubbing her fingers against her closed eyelids. "You know what? Whatever. Yeah, you're right—I did have a type. That's changed. I've changed," Rory hugged her teddy bear against her chest, taking a sip of her coffee. "I like Nik. He's super sweet and super nice, and he makes me happy."
