Alex's leaving

Back to reality

Alex: Hey princess. Listen, I want you to know that I love you so much. My life got way better when I met you. I'm so thankful Jo. But now, you have to wake up and come back to reality. And before that, you must now that you are very strong. I adore you.

Richard: "Jo. Hey Jo. Wake up."
I immediately woke up and saw Meredith crying.
Jo: "Where's Alex? I need him right now!"
Richard: "Jo. Don't you remember what happened earlier? You know. Alex's gone."
Jo: "But this can't be true. He was talking to me a couple of minutes ago. He was above the bed a little while ago."
Meredith came to my bed and hugged me.
Meredith: "Don't be scared sweetie. I'll stand beside you. You're safe next to me."
Jo: "Where's the baby?"
Meredith: "He's at the daycare sleeping."
Jo: "Can I stay at your home tonight? I really don't want to go to the loft. It will make me sadder."
Meredith: "Of course you can. Besides I would have told you some time later."
Later, we went to Meredith's car and I sat next to the driver's seat and I saw something that made me cry harder. It was a note from Alex. Although his letters are-were hard to read, I found out what he was writing.
     Hey Mer,
              I want you to know that you're my best friend in the whole wide world and if someday I can't talk please remind Jo that I adore her.
P.S. You have to know that I am the best surgeon in the world and nobody can deny it.
Jo: "Why is there this note?"
Meredith: "Oh. Alex had written it as we were going to the hospital last week when you had your day off."
We arrived at Mer's home. Andrew was lying on the bed and Meredith told him to sleep in another room. Luckily, Andrew was understanding and left the room. We lied on the bed crying and carrying the baby on my arms. Finally, some time later we fell asleep.
