     Silence fell upon the dimly lit bar as I took my place at the microphone, Mimzy's encouraging thumbs up visible amidst the crowd. Alastor's stern gaze silenced any murmurs, effectively capturing everyone's attention. Performing this song was not my initial intention, but as I witnessed Mimzy shamelessly flirting with Alastor, a surge of determination coursed through me, and I knew exactly what needed to be sung.

     I cleared my throat, feeling a mix of nerves and determination, and the music began to play. My grip on the microphone tightened as the lyrics surged forth, infused with both raw power and a tinge of frustration.

~~~~~
I know you've got designs on my man
I see you giving him the eye
And I don't like what I see
And I know you don't want to get into it with me
'Cause like a soldier defends his land
Well, I stand up, I get up, I defend my man
So don't make me ask you twice
'Cause I asked you once and I asked you nice
Keep your damn hands off my
Dixie Boy
Oh oh oh oh
Well, he's sweet, isn't he?
But I'm sorry, ladies, he belongs to me
My Dixie Boy
Oh oh oh oh
Well, he's fine, but get in line
'Cause he's mine, he's mine, all mine, all mine
     A sly smile played on my lips as I held the mic, locking eyes with Mimzy. Suddenly, a wave of dizziness washed over me, threatening to topple my trembling legs. I clutched my head, struggling to maintain my balance, only to find myself caught by strong, red arms. Static filled my ears, engulfing my senses as darkness claimed my vision, dragging me into unconsciousness.
     When I finally regained consciousness, I found myself lying on the couch in a hotel room. Alastor stood over me, a smile adorning his face. "Good morning, my dear!" Startled, I jerked upright, accidentally hitting my head against the wall. A yelp escaped my lips, and I instinctively cradled my throbbing skull. Alastor's hand gently rested on my shoulder, attempting to offer reassurance. "It's alright, my dear. It couldn't have hurt that bad! It was just the shock."
     Reluctantly releasing my head, I surveyed my surroundings, confusion etched across my face. "The hotel? Weren't we...?" I trailed off, my voice laced with uncertainty. Alastor chuckled, his voice filled with warmth. "Ah, yes, we were at the bar. You collapsed on stage, and I hurried to catch you. Afterwards, I apologized to Mimzy, who expressed her desire to hear you sing again. I then teleported us back here."
     I propped myself up further, nodding in acknowledgment, secretly hoping he hadn't deciphered the true meaning behind the song. "But that song..." Alastor's voice trailed off, his tone carrying a hint of curiosity. I tensed, withdrawing slightly into the comfort of my hoodie. "Y-yeah? What about it?"
     A mischievous smile danced across Alastor's lips as he continued, "Well, I couldn't help but notice the occasional glare you shot at Mimzy. And the lyrics, well... let's just say I might have gained some insight you wish I hadn't." He smirked, turning away. "Anyways, you should freshen up. We wouldn't want the lingering scent of beer to ruin tonight's meal!"
As Alastor left the room, my mind buzzed with a mix of apprehension and curiosity. What did he truly understand? With a sigh, I resolved to confront the implications of the song and its unintended revelations later. For now, I focused on preparing myself for the evening ahead, hoping to preserve the delicate balance between secrets and desires.
