A/N: Hey there! Here is a silly, somewhat cute story with yours truly. Hope you like it.
"I'm going to win this time, Kei. Just you wait!" Watching your boyfriend deal the cards in a swift and elegant motion, you were currently playing the seventh round of Poker against Tsukki, determined to succeed after failing the first six matches.
Wrapped in a cotton blanket that resembled a shattered spider's web, you took a confident slurp of your soda and tapped the floor you were sitting on a rhythmic melody while the T.V in the background played on, feeling neglected and yearning attention.
"That's what you said for the last rounds but look where you got yourself into now. You owe me over 2,000 yen." Tsukki retorted, shuffling the cards with speed, in hopes of impressing you.
"I thought we weren't playing for money. You know to gamble-
"Gambling is bad, I know. You don't have to keep telling me." You rolled your eyes at Tsukki's bored tone. "Just promise me you'll never go to Vegas by yourself."
Sitting cross-legged on the mahogany wooden floors with chips and snacks scattered around the place as if it was mapping out a trail, you saw Tsukishima dealing the last few cards as your pile of cards and possibilities stacked higher.
You could play Jenga with it if you wanted to.
Jenga? Or maybe a classic game of pick up sticks would be fun...
"(F/N), do you wanna do this or not?" Tsukishima exclaimed impatiently, using his deck of cards to fan himself.
You composed yourself and picked up your cards, studying them thoroughly with a giant smirk making it first debut in the two hours you've been playing together.
"Someone's eager to lose."
Tsukkishima huffed and straightened his glasses.
"Can we hurry up with this? I don't think I can take any more of your trash talk."
Dismissed, you bit your lip and nodded. You both looked at your cards and you signalled Tsukishima to start as you collected back your chips.
"I feel good about this round. I have my special moves ready, so brace yourself." You hid the bottom of your face behind your cards that were feathered out like a peacock's wings; it showed confidence without giving away your tactics to him.
"If that's the case, could you use these 'special moves' sooner cause I have to go to Volleyball practice after this." He said again in the same disinterested tone.
Just when Tsukki was about to place his cards down, the doorbell rang on cue. You both turned back to face the door. In your head, you were thinking of the various things that you ordered. Your smile grew wider after figuring out what the mystery package could be.
"It has to be that." Clumsily, you stood up and proceeded towards the door, unlocking it.
"It has to be what?" You heard Tsukki shout back at you but you paid no attention to it and turned the key, thanking the delivery man with a slight nod.
Throwing yourself on the cream laced-covered couch, you tore open the branded cardboard box with a pair of scissors that were cleverly placed on the coffee table and flipped the identical flaps on top.
Picking up the box, you uncovered a generic-looking set of dry paint that displayed a harlequin of bright to neon colors.
"What is that thing?"
"It's hair chalk." You waved the set at him so that he could have a better look at it. "You can color your hair with it and you can wash the colors out so it's not permanent.
