The moon set perfectly on the dark sky like a precious pearl sparkling on the deepest part of the sea. You can’t see any stars beside it because of the strong light it gives. The light cold weather is very tempting to stroll around.

Kathryn is leaning on the side of the middle of the Han River Bridge. Her right hand cupped her flawless jaw, with her eyes fixed intently on that precious pearl, like she was bewitched by its beautiful appearance. She had been there for almost two hours now waiting for Daniel to come but there is still no sign of him.

He called her yesterday to meet him there. He said he had an important matter to say to her.

She looked into her phone to check what time is it.

“Where are you Oppa?” Her tone is low. “You said you would be here by 11pm, but its past 12 midnight already? Hmmm! You should not let a girl wait for you for hours.”  Her big black beautiful eyes are on the picture that she has set as her wallpaper earlier. She is scolding him like a kid.

She had been used to this set-up. Everytime they go out as a group or just them to hang around, Daniel was always the late comer. In order for her not to get bored of waiting, she’ll just put his picture to her wallpaper and talk to it or scold it.

White sweatshirt with hood that have batman print on it, her favorite  character. She paired it with black skinny jeans and she’s wearing a striped black and yellow high cut sneakers. She’s definitely looks adorable in that simple and cute outfit.

He left his family in the middle of their ‘dinner’ to go to Han river. He doesn’t care if they’ll notice his absence. What’s important right now is to go to the person where his heart belongs.

Daniel is on his way to Han river when the scene earlier came to his mind.

His mother called him up early in the morning to remind him about their family dinner. She said that they’ll celebrate an important matter. He didn’t bother to ask her mother about it because his mind is preoccupied with someone else.

He planned to go to his parents’ house to attend the dinner around 9pm and go to Han river at 10pm. It will only take him 30 minutes to go to the river. So he still has 30 minutes to prepare before Kathryn will arrive.

When he was already on their house, he noticed a lot of cars that were parked on the front of their gate.

“Why there are a lot of people here?” He asked to himself while he’s entering the house. When he is on the grand hall, he noticed that all the people are on their nice dresses and ties. And every single of them are smiling at him.

“This ain’t a simple dinner, this is a party!” His mind screamed.

His eyes rolled to search for familiar faces. He found his father on the garden with a glass of champagne on his hand and laughing heartily to the man next to him. He step forward to approach his father when somebody put a hand to his right shoulder.

“Hyung!” The guy said.

He turned around and he saw Khalil.

“Why you didn’t tell us that you and Liza are getting married?” Khalil asked in a sad voice.

“What?” Daniel asked with wide eyes. He didn’t expect this to hear.

“You arranged this party to announce your engagement right? At first I thought this is only a joke but when your mother phoned me to invite me to attend your party I was in total disbelief. Even Dominic hyung is shocked to hear about it.” He said it in one breath. “We are your friends, we have the right to know. I tried to call Kathryn to tell her this news but she’s out of reach. Liza-ssi and Kathryn are best friends but it seems that she doesn’t know anything yet” He added.

He felt devastated after he heard everything what Khalil had said. He left him without saying anything.

“Hyung, where are you going?” Khalil shouted but it seems his hyung didn’t hear him.

He had made his decision. He won’t allow his parents to interfere with his personal life. He hurriedly rode to his car without any thought of showing his appearance first to his parents.

He is 10 kilometers away from the river when the right front wheel got deflated. “Oh man!” He said in bad mood. The worst is he didn’t have an extra wheel in the car. He didn’t expect this to happen that’s why he didn’t bother to bring one.

He started walking. He knows that taxi rarely pass by to Han river during wee hours. He looked to his phone to see what time is it.

“Kathryn, please wait for me there.” He whispered. It’s 11:50pm already and he decided to run. He ran as fast as he could just to reach the river in short time.

He reached Han river past 12 midnight. He stopped on the foot of the bridge to grasp some air. He bend over, his hands rested on his knees. His sweat is rolling down from his forehead to the outer line of his strong jaws. After a moment he lifted his head to look for Kathryn. He suddenly regained all his strength when he saw a familiar figure standing on the middle of the bridge.

He is very happy to know that despite the hours that he is late she’s still there waiting for him.

He slowly walked. With wide smile and eyes almost with tears. He is now standing on the back of Kathryn. He heard her humming a familiar love song. Without a word he hugged her tightly.

“Saranghae.” He almost whispered.

Kathryn is humming her favorite song when suddenly someone hugged her so tightly. Her eyes got widened because of surprise. She tried to let go but her body can’t seem to respond.

“Saranghae.” A familiar voice said. Her whole body stiffened. He almost said it as a whisper but she heard it so loud. Her heart started beating like crazy. Her knees started to feel weak.

They felt there world slows down. Everything went silent except for the two hearts that beating for each other.
