I honked the horn as I drove out of the street.
I had grown up in that street...
Gray Street is where I had experienced my first kiss, first boyfriend, first day of highschool even.
It meant the world to me. But now it was time to leave.
I was supposed to be meeting my best friend Kyal at the other end. In New York City.
"I've never even been there before" I mumbled under my breath. "I hope everything works out okay..."

Hours passed and I arrived in New York.
I looked at my GPS system and continued to drive for about five more minutes before I reached my apartment building Kyal had purchased for me.
I got out of the car and inhaled the sweet scents of the city. I wasn't used to anywhere looking like this... I had come from a small country town a couple hours away. I was used to knowing everyone, having the paperboy ding his bicycle bell as he went past and being able to walk nearly everywhere. This was a sure different atmosphere.
I took out my iPhone and quickly buzzed Kyal.
"Hey, im outside. come get me?" I quietly said whilst looking around.
"Oh hey girl! Damn, sure will cutiepie." He replied just as he hung up.
2 or so minutes passed and Kyal came out of the building to greet me in open arms.
We hadn't seen each other in for what I thought was FOREVER!
He took me upstairs to the 7th floor. Our apartments were directly across from each other.
Atleast I knew I had the company if I needed it.

"Wow, this sure is nice." I chirped as I unlocked my front door.
"ahaha. it sure is." replied Kyal "I'm gonna leave you to it. It's getting late, you should start unpacking before it gets TOO late. Have a good night gorgeous."
