"Bye sweetie, have a good day at school! Oh, and tell Gina I said happy belated birthday!", Kelliana's mom yells to her as her daughter steps out of the car, waving at her as her other hand was preoccupied with her phone, talking to Gina and then telling her what her mother said.

"Alright, mom, bye", she smiles, watching her mother drive out of the school gates as she makes her way to the school entrance, the crowds of teenagers surrounding the area.

"I should have never invited that jerk! Sorry you had to go through that Kells", Gina says into the phone, Kelliana sighing as her eyes glances down at her heeled boots that walk along the concrete pathway.

"Yeah, me too."

She tells Gina that she has to go now and hangs up, the thought of her best friend not coming to school today because of an assignment making her mood dim.

As she nears the stairs, she sees Uriah with his friends from the other day, standing at the far corner of the building, his back faced towards her but she can tell it was him. She noticed that he's been coming school more often, and maybe it's got to do with what he told her about how he wants to take school seriously, starting with his attendance and football. Not in the mood of going over to see him, she dips her head and and heads straight inside the building, making an effort to go to class early.

Unfortunately for her, she had English first period and she dreads this class as she knows she's going to see Dean, especially after she caught him making out with Priscilla.

She makes her way into class, sitting down at her usual seat in the far left side of the room, near the window. Pulling out her textbooks and pencil case, the bell for the beginning of first period had rang and everyone was already rushing in and sitting down, some taking their time as usual.

She sees Dean walk in and she immediately dips her head down to her desk, scribbling away at her notebook to avoid eye contact with him. The teacher had finally arrived and she begins class with a lecture on this weeks homework.

She suddenly felt her phone softly vibrate in her jean pocket, frowning as she discreetly pulls it out and sees a text notification from Uriah.

Are you at school?
- Uriah

She immediately opens the message and sends him one of her own, hiding her phone under the table as she quickly types away.

Yeah why?
- Kelliana

She hits send and  places it down on her lap, trying to listen to the class until she feels another vibrate.

Just askin
Didn't see you
- Uriah

She frowns, wondering what type of conversation this was leading to. It felt weird, as if they were close friends or something.

Ok
You shouldn't be texting in class
- Kelliana

He doesn't take his time and responds immediately. Kelliana thinks that he must be on his phone and not even paying attention in class.

Hmph, serious my ass.

Sorry missy but aren't u texting in class too?
- Uriah

Kelliana rolls her eyes as her fingers are so focused on replying to this irritating boy, careful to not get caught.

That's because you texted me first
Are we really going to do this?
- Kelliana

Do what
- Uriah
