After spending more time with Dean and him explaining everything that had been going on between him and his dad, she gave into his temptations. Even with the nagging voice at the back of her mind telling her that something wasn't right about this, she instead chooses to ignore it when she would usually listen to it.
Dean may not deserve her after all he's done, but she understands what he went through. It was just unfortunate that her heart had to be caught in the mix of it.
But because of their history together and the way that they've always been there for each other through their darkest moments, Kelliana decides to finally give him another try.
"I want to take it slow", she tells him softly one night as they were both in her room for the first time in months.
She's glad that he doesn't push it but instead nods with a sad smile on his face, his hands going to hold hers in his.
They didn't do anything that night, not even a single kiss because Kelliana was guarding her heart. She wanted to slowly develop their relationship back to normal, starting with friends.
But that night as she glances at the shadowed side profile of Dean sitting beside her on her bed, so entranced by the movie playing on the tv in front of them, a feeling of love doesn't flicker inside her like it used to whenever she looks at him. Instead a feeling of longing invades her emotions, like she wants to reach for something that she can't have whenever she looks at the boy who had grown up with her and her family her whole life. She doesn't know what it is but all she knew is that she didn't want that feeling to go away. The feeling of sentimentality.
Fast forward to the present day and Kelliana is at Dean's football practice, sitting in the bleachers as she watches him lead his team in a round of drills.
He said he wanted to hang out after school and go to that cafe they always used to go to so she reluctantly says yes because of how happy he was to spend time with her.
He told her that he lied to his dad, saying that he would just be having extra practice instead of spending his evening hours with the girl he wasn't supposed to be seeing.
That information made her feel uneasy, the fact that his dad didn't want him dating her for so long makes her already feel like a burden. But to Dean he didn't care. He only cared about her.
As she's watching them practice, running all over the field, she suddenly remembers the deal with Uriah.
Now that she was back with Dean, this meant that the deal was over. Uriah successfully helped her and she couldn't believe she had forgotten it until now.
Or maybe its got to do with the fact that he wasn't here always reminding her every second. She hasn't seen him for so long that she wondered at one point if he had died. Gina would always tell her not to worry about him, that she was finally back with Dean so she should be happy.
But Gina doesn't understand that Uriah helped her get back with him.
So she decides to pay him back on her end as she felt indebted.
Kelliana walks down the bleachers and heads towards Coach Malik who was standing on the sidelines, writing on a paper clipboard as she glances a peek at Dean being so engrossed in the drills along with the rest of the team.
"Hey Coach", she greets him with a smile after she grabs his attention, standing beside him as she watches the boys play.
"Oh hello head of student body. How are you?", he greets her back comically, putting the clipboard down as he looks down at her.
