You pull your (H/C) hair into a tight pony, smiling wistfully at the empty room scattered with boxes. You run through the room, spinning in circles and stopping in front of a window with yellow curtains.
You pull open the curtains, a faint cloud of dust circling around you. You peer out the window, admiring the pretty scenery. You straighten up, turning on your heel and placing your hand on your chin.
You spot a smaller box on its side across the room. "I know exactly what this room needs." You hurry over to the box, kneeling in front of it and ripping it open. You pull out large garlands of flowers, gathering them up and standing back up.
You string them all around the room, twirling towards the window and pulling the dull yellow curtains down. Sunshine drenches the room, and you can't help but beam. You stare out the window again. "I already love you Beach City."
A few hours pass and you finish unpacking, you throw yourself down on the couch, sweat beading your forehead. You blow a strand of hair out of your face. "What do you think, Doris?" A small Siamese kitten jumps up onto the couch, a tiny bell jingling with its movement. She meows lightly in approval.
Standing back up, a small shoebox in the corner catches your eye. You know exactly what it is. You pick it up, and place it on the coffee table. You lift the lid off to reveal a small teddy, a necklace, and several photographs of you and a man with dark hair. Doris leaps onto the coffee table, hissing at the box. You laugh, picking her up and placing her back on the floor.
You take out the golden necklace first, clasping the heart in your hand. You head to the window briskly, pulling it open and tossing the necklace out, dusting your hands off.
You pick up the small bear, turning towards the trash can. You open the lid, but then hesistate. "It's not your fault he was a dick, teddy. You don't deserve this." You pat the bear on its head, and place him on the couch. Hiding him behind a pillow.
Finally you pick up the photographs. You begin to feel dizzy, screaming resonating through your head as you stare at the photo. You begin shredding them, falling to your knees. Your hands tremble, tears beginning to fall on the floor.
A knock on the door interrupts you. You quickly wipe the tears from your eyes and jump up, pushing the pictures under the couch with your foot.
You race to the door, Doris behind you.
You open it to reveal an average looking scrawny boy with brown hair. Doris peaks her head between your legs.
He awkwardly flashes a smile. "Nice to meet you! I'm Jamie! Welcome to beach city! I'll be your mailman." He proudly holds out his hand.
You shut the door.
