She gasped awake at dusk. Her vision was blurry but she focused on what was up, trees, the girl was somewhere in the forest. Water was falling on her face, in small amounts, and she stood up slowly. It rolled off but she still wiped her face with the old sweatshirt she was given. She shook her head trying to remember what had happened and took a step forward, crying out at the sharp pain in her leg. A spike was cut straight through the back of her calf, but she still couldn't remember how she got here. Not thinking, the girl grabbed the end and pulled it out, trying not to make a sound. Limping, she made her way back to the city, or where she thought it was at least.
(Now)
In the shadows, I peeked around the corner, the bank was under robbery. A man pulled a gun and took a woman hostage, I watched as a few others did the same and one ran to the front. I kicked up the black helmet on the ground and put it on, then ran into the bank. All of their eyes turned my way, I reached my hand out to the closest hostageand the attacker tightened his grip. I took another step and her pointed at me, I glanced and three of them were pointed it my direction. The man kept his gun pointed, I jumped on him and pushed the woman out of the way, the gun got kicked out of his hand and I pinned him to the ground. Behind me I could hear two of the guns cocking, I turned to them, hand out on the left but looking to the right. I didn't know much of what happened a while ago but I knew something changed, I know some of what I can do, so I made a staff. With the staff, I knocked the first guy out then tackled the second, I struck him in the temple while jumping on him and he passed out too. I stood up and looked at the third, making him uneasy, he started to charge. He shoved his hostage out of the way and made a bolt for me, I dodged and he stumbled, I gripped my staff with both hand the jumped on his back. The staff fell under his chin and I brought my feet back to the ground, I spun him around and approached the last two guys. One ran into the vault and the other turned to me, "Alright boys, get out here." I locked eyes with them and the one appeared from the vault. "You're in the wrong part of town to be bugging these nice people, now leave and the rest of you won't have to deal with me."
The robbers started to laugh quietly at first and then seeming distracted. I nodded then kicked the man in the back, before plunging my staff into his shoulder. Tearing it out, the laughter stopped, the men drew there arms and fired. They only shot twice, one hit, but the bullet dissolved when it touched me. One man gasped and took another hostage, I threw the staff and he fell backwards when it hit him in the nose. We watched it disappear and I smirked, the guy panicked then ran out. I turned to the last guy near the vault, he looked at me and feebly raised his weapon. A step towards him with my staff raised and he started to run too. The police caught the two runners and the three unconscious, but after cuffing them all they approached me. They had two pairs of cuffs coming towards me, I put my head down until they got a little closer, I ran up to them and slid under the gap between the two. You could hear their foot steps try to come after me but I was too fast, I cut the corner into an ally, turned left and walked across the street with no helmet. I walked to my motorcycle and started it, I drove out of there and got to my warehouse. Parking in another ally way, I jumped off the bike and ran into the old factory. The large doors opened slowly but shut quickly behind me, I walked into the poorly lit building and sat at the desk. My cover for the high-tech equipment had already collected dust after less than a week, but I removed it and switched the computer on. They glowed a soft red and I stared to go through my notes, "Add log 148: New power discovered, a type of bullet will dissolve against skin unless thought other wise. Unknown if any other types react the same way. End log." The timer in the screen stopped and I let go of button in my hand, I set it down a sighed. I turned one monitor on live news and the other on nearby security feed, then stood up and walked to the other side of the room. Listening to what was happening, I decided to train until something came up. Half way through a free climb, I tuned into the news.
"Local vigilante resists arrest after harming attackers." I heard the broadcast say and fell from my place on the wall.
"What?" I scoffed, stood up, and ran to the monitor. "You can't assault bank robbers!" I growled and ran out of the factory. The bike started up fast and I drove to my apartment hoping my roommate wasn't home.
