"Raven... Where would you get an idea like that?" Phoenix's voice filled your ears in a way that was deafening. Your world began to spin, and you stumbled backwards, trying to get as far away from him as possible.
" No... This isn't right... you left for London and you died. You aren't real. Phoenix is never coming back to me." you squeaked out, an overwhelming feeling of nausea filling your body. Your back finally hit the wall of the living room, and you sank to the floor. Your knees were hugged tightly to your chest and you began to sob uncontrollably. You sobbed for an eternity, and Phoenix inched closer to you, eventually sinking to his knees in front of you. His hands found yours and he squeezed them gently. "Raven I'm right here...talk to me." You choked back the sobs that were ravaging your body and your eyes met his slowly. His hands left yours and moved to cradle your face. Your eyes closed at his touch and your hands found his. You took a deep breath and told him what David had told you a little over a month ago.
"Phoenix... David told me that you were dead. I believed him. We buried you...." You whispered, ashamed of yourself.
"Love... I promised you that I would come back. Things took longer in London than they should have...and that's a complicated situation all by itself." Phoenix says, shaking his head as if he was trying to shake the idea of London away. "What did David tell you?"
" He didn't give me any details... and I didn't have the heart to ask."
"Well....I'm going to have a long talk with my dear friend David." He stood up and your hand caught his quickly.
"Not yet.... I need to know what happened...." You whisper, your eyes brimmed with tears.
"And I need to know where in bloody hell he got his information from. He destroyed you. Someone has to pay for that."
You take a deep breath and stand up slowly, Phoenix's arms around your waist now. You placed your hands on his chest and whispered, "That's not important right now. You are here and that's what matters right now. I begged you not to leave the first time. You left anyway... I won't beg you again. I won't lose you again. I can't lose you again." You rested your head on his chest and he held you close, his chin resting on top of your head. He sighs heavily as replies, "You'll never lose me again."
