Chapter 1: Forgotten: Prologue
I trudged down the sidewalk winding through the thick woods away from my school. It was raining, but I didn't care. I loved the rain. I loved how the drops would land on my nose and tickle it. Then they would trickle off my nose and land on the ground with a clink. A lot of the other kids liked to walk under the trees for protection from the rain. The rain is nothing to be afraid of. It's just water. I always teased them. I laughed like there were no troubles in the world. No violence, no conflict, no death. Death. I always hung on that word. Why do we die? I always was taught that we served a purpose in life and then we left. I was about to learn that that lesson was true the hard way.
I parted from the rest of the group as they ducked under the trees. I'd rather get my feet wet. I said goodbye and then skipped all the way home. The merry smile on my face faded when I saw two police cars near my house. Their lights were flashing, which I knew meant trouble. " Hi, are you Sylvia Bonshire," the police questioned me."Yes....?" "Come inside. You're not going to be very happy".
I stepped into my house. Everything was quiet. So quiet you could hear a pin drop. The sink was left on a crack so you could hear the water dripping from the spout into the basin. There was another dripping coming from the kitchen. There were my parents. Clothes stained with blood, Wounds plus blood equals dead to me. I knelt down next to my dead parents when a hand touched my shoulder. It was yanking me. Trying to pull me away from them. It was the officer."No. No. N..no. NOO!" I was clinging desperately to the ground. He kept pulling.
"WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED TO THEM!!!?" The police officer answered."They were murdered." "By who?!" "Allister M.J Scott." "Did you freaking catch him!?" "................." "Well!! Say something!" "No." I was silent. He led me out of the house. That was good. I didn't want to be in that place anyways. "Where are you taking me", I asked chocking back tears. " The orphanage." "NOT THE ORPHANAGE!" I was getting closer and closer to his car. "You're going and that's final".
We were about two inches from his car when I broke free from his grip and dashed towards the woods. He didn't come after me. He didn't even look surprised. I was forgotten. I didn't know if I would make it in the wild. Eventually, the enforcements did catch me and bring me to the orphanage. That's where this story begins. A forgotten child in an orphanage.
