Thank you for taking a chance with me and I hope that when I share this story, someone out there will be able to relate. Maybe someone you know has experienced the same thing. I hope you enjoy my story. Love everyone like you may have to say good bye. Cherish every moment.
The day started off great. My brothers birthday. I wanted to do something special, so I decided to decorate for the occasion. His favorite show is the office, so I decorated like how Jim and Dwight decorated for Kelly's birthday.
Brown and silver balloons barely filled up. I even made a poster that said "It Is Your Birthday". I got a black table cloth. I hung up brown and black streamers with masking tape. It looked great.
My brother plays the saxophone and was away at a jazz festival. I was headed to my friends birthday. She was having a glow in the dark party at one of our Church's buildings.
I had a feeling. I was already thinking about maybe not going. My Church's prom was the next day and I still had things to prepare for it. I had already committed so I decided to just go.
I got the the building and could hear the pounding music. Walking inside the gym I start to feel excited. I find my friend and give her a big hug. The party had begun.
There was music, an area where you could play VR, glow in the dark: bowling, ping pong, and other games. It was great, any feelings of uneasiness disappears without a trace. I was truly in the moment.
After much laughter and games it is time for the party to end. The mess was apparent. When the lights came on the room turned into an arena of trash. I knew I needed to stay and help. I start taking down decorations and help put the food away. We are sweeping and still having a good time.
I looked at the time and panicked. I was already 10:00. I lived about thirty minutes away and told my Mom that the party ended at 9:30. I say my good byes and leave to my car. I start my car and know that I need to get gas. Putting in my house's address and a gas station in the way, I begin my journey.
I tell Siri the call my Mom and put my phone in speaker phone. The phone rings and no one picks up, I leave a message and continue on my way. As I wait at a stop light to enter the area that the gas station is at and My Mom starts calling me.
As I answer the phone I do not realize that my life was about to completely change.
