Twenty-Three

"DANI!!!" I shouted as I am standing on an elevated platform and spiking the ball hard to her. We are on the third day of practice since we got back from the island.

Coach Tai went back to Thailand to be with him family before the season will open again. He was expected to return today. So as of now I was the one in-charge of the training. 

"Coach, may nag hahanap po kay Coach Tai." Faith said. I looked at the door and it was Coach Kung Fu and another man, I assume, the Management of the National Team.

"Hi coach." I said as I wiped my forehead with a towel. 

"Hi coach Jema. This is Sir Edgar Morris, he is one of the managers for the National Team."

"Hello sir." I said and he handed out a hand. I wiped my hand first before shaking it.

"Nanjan ba si Coach Tai?" Coach Kung Fu asked.

"Ah... coach, umuwi po kasi sya ng Thailand pero today po yung landing ng flight nya pabalik, wala naman po syang nabanggit kung a-aattend sya ng practice today."

"Maybe we can talk in private Jema?" Sir Edgar spoke so I had to look at Coach Kung Fu. He nodded and I led us to the coaches room.

I asked Ate Den to continue the training. I get refreshments and we sat face to face on my table.

"How was the training camp?"

I was about to speak when Coach Tai entered the room.

"About time. Hello Coach how are you?" Said Coach Kung Fu.

"Okay okay. Travel, long." Coach Tai answered.

Coach Kung Fu just smiled, and I had to smirk cause I know that he was not used to Coach Tai's way of speaking in English. He looked at me and I take that as a cue that I should introduce the other person that is in the room.

"Ahh Coach. This is Sir Edgar Morris." Coach Tai lend out a hand that the other shook willingly. "He is one of the Manager of the National Team."

"Ah okay okay." He bowed to him just like he does to the cameras during games.

We sat again and we talked about the player that they scouted during one of the games. They chose, Faith Nisperos, Ponggay Gaston, and Dani Ravena on our team. 

"But they still need to undergo tryouts and still have possibility to be removed, based on their performance." Sir Edgar said. "We, actually want to focus especially on the power house teams on the PVL. ChocoMucho and Creamline to be exact."

"That's reasonable." I responded. "How about coaching staffs sir?"

"Coaching staff... Well... We might add some more. You know, the offer still stands Jema, what do you think?"

"Ahh. Is there any particular people in mind sir?"

"Well, we shouldn't be telling you this, cause the players are our main concern here but yes, we are looking to add some coaching staffs. We like to add some former players that made impact during their time at UAAP and NCAA."

I nodded my head. "I won't push sir, you obviously avoided my question."

"You avoided mine too." He smiled.

"Fair enough." I saw coach Tai and coach Kung Fu just looked at us back and forth, nodding in agreement.

"Okay, so, I suppose you are going to talk to your players first?"

"Yes. Then we'll let you know."

"Okay, we will contact you as soon as possible with regards to the general meeting of all the players, the additional coaching staffs and the management."
