Chapter 41

"Anna"

She turned around and almost fell out of the chair; A stranger, no the man from the lake from standing there in the middle of the living room staring at her. How did he know her name? What was he doing in the house and where was Raj? So many questions ran through her mind as she tried to control her breathing.

"Yes?"

"I tried to talk to you last night, but you screamed – So I left."

"Tha- that was you?" She stuttered.

"Anna, I've watched you for sometime now, and I love you" he said as if he was in a trance. He was a strange man. Anna was frightened of him, purely because he was so strange.

"Er?" Where the hell was Raj! The man took a couple of steps toward Anna. She backed away quickly., but he kept coming. "Don't come closer!" She warned and looked around for a weapon of some sort.

"Wondering where your Raj is?"

Anna didn't reply, she got a very bad feeling. How did he know all this?

"Who are you" She said trying to sound confident. But her voice broke and she felt powerless in front of him.

"Who cares?" He laughed. "I love you, so what should you say back?" He said menacingly. He was not sane, she decided.

"I don't" She said, which wasn't a good idea. He came for her and grabbed her pinning her against the nearest wall. He pushed against her hard with his body. She felt sick, feeling him against her. She tried to fight against him, pushing with all her force, but he was too strong.

"Now I have you where I want you" He said icily.

"Let me go!" she screamed. He moved to kiss her. She pulled as far back as she could and spat on his face, she regretted this almost immediately. He slapped her with one hand still pushing her with the other.

"We're going to have so much fun" He said and leaned in again to kiss her. His lips touched hers and she hit him hard with her leg. He collapsed in pain and she ran, but soon he was behind her and much faster than her.

He caught her and she fell under his weight. She couldn't breath, he was suffocating her with his body. She gasped. "Let me go, please"

"Do what I ask and I will let you go"

"Wha- what do you want"

"Stop loving Raj, stay away from him! Come with me"

"Come with you?" She was scared; he would kidnap her or something.

"Yes!"

"Why?"

He pushed against her and made her scream out in pain. "I can't breath" She felt dizzy. Suddenly the weight was lifted and the man went hurling across the floor. She looked up to see Raj, his arms bloodied, standing there looking angry. He helped her up and told her to run. She couldn't run, she couldn't leave him.

The man stood up and pulled out a knife. He came closer to Raj holding it out threateningly.

"You got out did you?"

"Mahesh what the hell do you want?" Raj asked to Anna's surprise.

"Who is he?" Anna asked.

"This is not the time for questions, Anna dear – so what do you say about my proposition?"

"Go to hell!" Anna said.

"I'm not the one who will be going" Mahesh said icily. "I'm not the one dying"

"He's Mahi's brother" Raj said looking disgusted. "He's sick"

At that moment Mahesh lunged at Raj. Raj caught his hand and was fighting him off. Anna stepped back not knowing what to do. She wanted to help Raj, so she looked around and saw a vase. She picked it up slowly and went behind Mahesh. But that that moment Mahesh turned around and chased After Anna, leaving Raj. Anna ran into the closest room and tried to close the door behind her. But he pushed against it. She fell back from the force he exerted into opening the door and felt dizzy. He came at her with the knife. "Last chance" he said smiling.

"Kill me" She cried. Raj came behind him at that moment, and Mahesh did something Anna didn't expect. He turned around and stabbed Raj right in the stomach. Raj was caught off guard – he didn't know what had happened but he fell.

"Raj!!" Anna got up to go to him. Mahesh stabbed him again. Anna tried to pry the knife off him, accidentally cutting her hand. He went to stab Raj again and Anna lunged herself onto his back. Both fell forward and the knife sped away across the floor.
