(^^ Yael's dress ❤️)
Yael's P.O.V.After Jade's parents left, I was alone with him. It was an awkward silence as we sat on the couch together. I nervously played with the hem of my dress, waiting for him to say something.
"Do you want something to eat..?" He asked, looking at me. I could see the nervousness in his eyes so I nodded my head.
"That would be great.." My stomach growled, and then I realized I haven't ate anything since I fell. I really was hungry.
He got up and started the stove, pouring broth into a pot and letting it boil. Then he poured it into a cup and pulled out some crackers along with it.
"We should probably do something light.. I don't want you to throw up." He said, concern lining his voice as he gave it to me.
"Mm." I hummed as I tried it. I almost burned my tongue, it was still really hot, but it tasted good.
I sighed in content as I finished it, feeling full for the first time since I came down.
"Do you want to go outside? I can take you on a tour of the pack."
"Sure." I smiled. It would be nice if I could learn some things about this place.
He led me out of the house and around the pack. I sucked in a breath, happy to get some fresh air. We took a little walk and we ended up to the training field. Some guys were still sparring, while some were taking a break.
"These are the training grounds. The males train in case rogues or other packs try to challenge us." He explained.
"What are rogues?" I asked.
"Rogues are wolves without a pack. They mainly go alone and roam the outskirts of the pack territories. We despise them, they invade our homes and kill our members, including the women and children. They are terrible." He explained.
"Oh," I mumbled,"well what do the women do around here?"
"Raise the pups, make the food, clean, et cetera." He said simply.
"They don't fight like the guys?" I frowned.
"No, they are women. Not as strong as men."
That made me a little angry, since I was a woman too. I don't remember if I could fight, but I'm sure I could.
I'm still too weak from the fall to try anything though."Moving on, lets go to the gardens." He smiled warmly, and I could tell he had some happy memories of the place.
When we arrived, it took my breath away. Flowers of all different colors and shapes filled the area. For the first time, it felt like I was in heaven again.
Yeah, I don't remember much of Heaven, but I remember the feeling I had when I was up there. It was warm and pure, just like this place.
I beamed at Jade, silently asking if I could go in. He nodded with a chuckle as I ran into the garden.
I knelt down, softly touching a beautiful rose, as if it would break. I glanced over the roses, one of them was beginning to wilt, the edges of the petals turning a dark brown. I smiled at it sadly, before gently touching it. The brown faded back to red, and was once wilting was now perfect again. I was bewildered by this, but it felt right.
I was about to move on, but I was forcibly pulled up by someone."Who the hell are you?? What are you doing in the gardens, shouldn't you be doing your chores right now??" A man yelled in my face.
"L-let me go!" I stuttered as I tried to pull my arm away.
"Come on, let's go. I'll have to tell the alpha to punish you for slacking off." He said, pulling me along with him.
"NO!" I screamed, and I shoved him away from me.
He stopped and looked at me. I could feel the fury building behind his eyes. I hugged my arm close to me and trembled.
I heard the cracking of bones, and I watched as the man before me changed into a different creature. I was terrified, and backed away frantically.
It was a wolf, he had turned into a wolf. He growled at me, stopping me in my tracks, as if he was saying "don't go any further."Suddenly, he stopped and sniffed me. Then, I realized he knew I was different. His growling was more fierce and intense, and I could tell he wanted to hurt me.
I started sobbing, and I stepped back. I felt arms encircle me. I was about to struggle out of them, but they felt familiar.
"Shhh, it's okay baby." Someone whispered in my ear.
Ah. It's jade. I'm safe. I thought instinctively.
I hid my face into his chest, my tears staining his shirt.
"WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?!!" Jade's voice boomed. I flinched a little, but I knew his anger wasn't directed toward me.
"A-Alpha.. I-" The man stuttered.
"NO EXCUSES. THIS IS MY MATE, BUT YOU PUT YOUR HANDS ON HER?" Jade yelled.
"I-I'm sorry, sir. I had no idea this woman was your mate. But... with all due respect... she isn't even a werewolf. I thought she was an enemy." He mumbled.
I could feel Jade start to shake with anger. I hugged him tightly to calm him down. He inhaled my scent, and I could sense his anger fading.
"See me in my office later," Jade said with a frightening calm in his voice,"and don't touch her again or you'll lose your hands."
He picked me up and walked away. I felt so out of place here.
"Are you okay, love?" He asked sweetly.
"Y-yeah.." I said, wiping my eyes with my hands.
"Let's go get you something to munch on, hmm?" He suggested.
"Okay." I replied, hugging him.
He carried me back inside the large mansion, putting me down on a chair. I put my arms on the table in front of me and watched him ask someone to make me food.
A few minutes later, a bowl with green leaves sat in front of me. I looked at Jade for an explanation, but it seemed he wanted me to eat it.I frowned, but picked up the fork and tried it. There was this white sauce drizzled on top of it which made it a lot more flavorful. I actually liked this food, it tasted good.
I finished it quickly, before looking at Jade again, hoping he'll get me some more.
"You want more?" He laughed.
I nodded with a big smile, watching as he went back into the kitchen and came out with more of the green stuff.
