An old Friend

*Onyx's pov*

I spent a few days with Summer's family and it feels nice to have people care for you. Ruby treats me as a brother which is wholesome. Yang, she is ok to hang around. We have a few hand to hand sparing sessions. Apparently, those two want to become huntress's, which I learned to be warriors who defend this world. Maybe being a huntsman is something I should strive for. Right now, I was meditating outside. Things were rarely peaceful and quiet around here ironically, so I wanted to take this opportunity while I still could. Now things were finally silent. 

Onyx: *sighs contently* Finally, some peace and quit.

Ruby: OH MY GOSH, ONYX!!!!

Of course. Sometimes Ruby tends to come and barge into what people are doing.

Onyx: *calmly sighs* What's up Ruby?

Ruby: Your floating!!!

Onyx: What?

I opened my eyes fully to see that she was right. I was floating in the air with small rocks and sticks floating around me as if I had my own orbit. I was so shocked that I ended up falling to the ground, hard.

Onyx: Ow!

Ruby: Are you ok?

Onyx: I'm ok Ruby, just shocked that's all.

Ruby: How did you do that?

Onyx: I... Don't know...

Ruby: *gasp* Are you a wizard?

Onyx: I don't think so.

Ruby: Can you do it again?

Onyx: Maybe?

Ruby: MOM, DAD, Onyx did something cool!!!

Onyx: What??

Tai: What did Onyx do?

Ruby: He floated!!!

Summer: Really?

Ruby: Yeah!! Show them the thing.

Onyx: I'll try. But first I need everyone to be quiet.

I sat down in my meditative position. Everything was quiet as I let everything sink in. Without knowing, everything around me started to levitate of the ground, including the me. before I knew it, I was five feet above the ground. I opened my eye's slowly as to not loose focus. I was met with faces of shock and awe.

Tai: How did...? I thought you said lightning was his semblance!

Summer: I said I think that was the case. I didn't know he was telekinetic!

Onyx: I don't think it has anything to do with my aura. It feels more like a force within me and yet, all around me. It's like an aura, yet it's everywhere and everything has it.

Tai: That... actually makes sense.

Summer: Do you think...?

Tai: Let's not think about it. He's not ready for that.

Onyx: Not ready for what?

Summer: Umm... Don't worry about it Onyx. It's just a small concern that's all.

Onyx: OoooKaaay?.

That was weird. I didn't buy their words. They were hiding something. The question was, what is it? Suddenly, Summer's scroll started ringing.

*Summer pov*

I picked up my scroll and answered the call.

Summer: Hello.

???: Been a while, hasn't it Rose?

Summer: Khem?! Is that You?

Khem: Yep. Anyway, I was hoping I could visit so we could catch up.

Summer: Of course. See you soon.

I can't believe Khem is coming to visit us. It's been almost 10 years since we've seen each other. I remember how he met our team back at beacon. He was a strange faunus; 7 feet tall, brownish-gray skin, piranha-like teeth, weird tattoos, and snake-like eyes. When our team met him, he looked like he was lost and out of place, almost as if he was in the wrong time and spoke a weird language.

Tai: So who was it?

Summer: It was Khem.

Tai: As in Khem Val?

Summer: Yep, and guess what? He's coming over!!!

Tai: What?

Summer: I know right? I'm so excited!!!

Tai: It's been ten years, how do you think he's been.

Summer: I bet he's doing great. 

Ruby: Who's Khem?

Summer: He's a friend from our time at beacon.

Ruby: Is he nice?

Summer: As long as your nice to him. He might look scary, but he is a good guy.

Onyx: What's his name again?

Tai: Khem Val.

Onyx: That seems familiar.

Tai: Do you know him?

Onyx: Maybe. Family friend I guess.

Summer: Well If he recognizes you, you could go with him.

Onyx: Do you want me to leave?

Summer: *panicked* No-no-no, It's not that. You're like the son I never had. It's just, I don't feel right keeping you away from your family.

Onyx: But, I like it here. Plus, I feel like pieces of my memories are coming together. The more I find, the more I think I ran away for a reason.

Tai: He might be right. Every time we talk, he keeps on mentioning these nightmares he's been having lately.

Onyx: They weren't exactly nightmares when I think about it now. They were more like memories that pop up when I sleep. Though, some of them I do believe were purely dreams.

Summer: Could you tell me what one was about?

Onyx: Well. I was in a land of darkness where grimm was in large numbers. I wandered until I came across someone.

I was worried. I know what place he's talking about. That is where She resides. I was scared of where this was going. If this is the case, I fear he may be in danger.

Onyx: A woman with skin that was white as mine but with black veins. For some reason, she seemed familiar and I had this anger for her. Anyway, she came to me and we talked for a bit. Before I knew it, I woke up almost like nothing happened. 

Scratch that, now I'm worried. If Salem was trying to get to Onyx, then I can't afford to let him out of my sight. What makes it more of a worry is that she didn't attack immediately. What could she be planning? I just hope It doesn't cause a problem later in the future.
