Mr. Carrot and Mr. Cabbage lived in a cottage a mile or so down from the prairie. Mr. Carrot grew cabbages and Mr. Cabbage grew carrots. The two became the most unlikely of friends, but how you may ask?

Mr. Carrot never liked carrots and Mr. Cabbage never liked cabbage. A twist no less, Mr Carrot loved orange things and Mr Cabbage loved all things green.

However since Mr. Carrot only had cabbage and Mr. Cabbage only had carrots, both men had to go to market and sell their produce items in order to make dye for their clothing.

One day Mr. Carrot went into the town market, to sell his cabbage. He walked down the tiny path leading from his home, and many others, to town. He walked with a skip in his step, humming to a song he once heard in the town square.

He walked past three homes, one with blue shutters, one grey and one with orange shutters. Of course,
with his love of orange, he stopped and stared at the peaceful home.

The lawn wasn't overgrown, the stones that made up the outside of the house didn't have vines crawling along the walls.

Mr. Carrot took in a small breath, he felt calm looking at the home. He wished his home looked like that, but instead he had an olive green door and shutters, and vines creeping their way up his brick walls. He wanted to paint over the green with orange but he didnt know how to paint.

Little did he know that the person within the stone walls of the cottage of his dreams thought the same but only green.

Mr. Cabbage grabbed his basket of carrots, placing it next to the door so he could put his shoes and coat on. He sat on his small wooden stool tying his shoes. Once done, he sits up straight, rubbing his large hands along his thin thighs taking a deep breath.

"Another day going to the market." Mr. Cabbage says in a whisper, to no one in particular. It was the same everytime he went to the market. He'd set up his little booth and try to sell his carrots, but only a few people came. One in particular always catching his eye.

He never got his name, but the man was small. The man had to have been about 2-3 years younger than him.

The small man had chubby fingers, beautiful chocolate colored eyes, squishible cheeks, brown wavy locks, but most importantly to Mr. Cabbage, his smile. If you looked at him for a short period of time you'd never notice that the man had a crooked front tooth, barely noticable.

"Time to see Mr. Mysterious again..." Mr. Cabbage smiled softly letting a slight Bush cover his face. He grabed his basket and stood up with his coat. With his keys in his pocket, he opened his door.

Quickly noticing Mr. Mysterious stood at the gate in front of his cottage. Mr. Cabbage looked around to see why he was standing in front of his house staring at him. Was he waiting? If so, how long? And how did he know where he lived?

Mr. Carrot stood frozen in front of the home, someone walked out of the cottage. Not just anyone though, Mr. Cabbage. Of course Mr. Carrot only new that was his name because of his mailbox to the left of him.

Mr. Cabbage closes his front door and adjusts his coat. He started to walk towards the small man. Once he got to the white gate separating the two, they just stood there.

"Hello, is there something you need?" Mr. Cabbage lifts his eyebrow questioningly, while he raises his hand to his black hair to scratch his scalp. The man just stood there with a bright blush on his face.

"N-no, I was simply f-fascinated by your beautiful cottage. I l-love the colors." Mr. Carrot smiled brightly making his eyes turn to crescents. Mr. Cabbage turned his head to the side to glance at his home.

"This old thing? Its alright, I guess," Mr. Cabbage looked him and shrugs, "I'm not a fan of the color orange. Though it is pretty, I prefer green. Maybe like an olive color." Mr. Cabbage chuckled.

"Well then, I suppose you'd love my home." Mr. Carrot giggled lightly. Mr. Cabbage smiles softly, admiration filling his eyes.

"What's your name? If you don't mind me asking." Mr. Cabbage tilted his head.

"Mr. Carrot"

"No first name?"

"James, James Carrot" The smaller of the two smiles brightly.
