I headed over to Lincoln and Kira. They were standing together in the corner. Wherever we went Lincoln and Kira had to hide themselves. Efren and Theo were slowly working their way through the crowd.
"Lincoln, Kira. We have a problem." I whisper.
"What type of problem?" Lincoln asks.
I tell them about the nursery in the back room and what Sandstorm was asking us to do.
"And what exactly are you asking of me?" Lincoln asks.
"Can we use your ship to hide them on? It's the biggest one we have, and we need that." I say.
"If you use my ship, how exactly are you going to get the children from here to there without being caught?" Lincoln asks.
"Your ship is a Big Brother model. They won't expect anything is off, as for getting the kids to it we have to start now. Big Brother's rotation is later." I say.
"Fine use my ship. We have children to move." Lincoln says.
I nod, then rush back to Sandstorm.
"We can use my friends ship to hold the children, but we need to start moving them now." I say.
Sandstorm nods.
"Where's the ship?" Sandstorm asks.
"Right now in orbit. We're going to dock it here." I say.
Sandstorm nods.
"While we're waiting for the ship to land I'm going to tell everyone what's going on." I say.
Sandstorm nods. I head towards Efren and Theo. I reach them, and tap their shoulders. They turn around.
"Skye, what's going on?" Efren asks.
"Shh. Follow me." I say.
Efren and Theo do. I lead them to the back room and show them the nursery. Efren and Theo's jaws drop.
"We have to move those babies to Lincoln's ship. Lincoln has agreed and is landing the ship right now." I say.
"Why are all these kids here?" Efren asks.
"Big Brother is going through planets looking for crystal people. These babies were all hid here when Big Brother came through. They're doing a final sweep of the planet and they can't be here." I say.
"These are all crystal people?" Efren asks.
"Crystal sensitive at the least, but that's enough." I say.
"Skye, this is going to to look suspicious, people without babies. Nowhere to be found." Efren says.
"I know, which is why I'm going to to have to take out this group of Big Brother for good." I say.
"Skye, you're not doing it alone." Efren says.
"The main focus is getting these children safe and that's what's going to happen. Regardless of what situation I'm in you need to be caring for the kids." I say.
"You don't give me orders Skye." Efren says.
"Yes I do." I say.
"Since when?" Efren demanded.
"Since this is my quest. It was given to me. I'm in charge of it." I say.
Efren glared at me.
"You don't outrank me. I'm still your Master." Efren says.
I sigh.
"Efren please. You have to trust me on this. I can hold them off. What matters is getting those kids safe. I trust you to do that. But if you finish early by all means come and help me, but only after every child is safe and hidden." I say.
Efren sighs.
"Fine, but until Big Brother gets here we need your help." Efren says.
I nod. Lincoln landed the ship as close as he possibly could.
"Alright ships here. Let's start." I say.
People start moving babies from the cantina, through the trees to get to the ship. Kira and the people who had been tending to the children took them onto the ship and placed them somewhere secure. Theo, Efren, Lincoln, Sandstorm, and I were moving the babies too and from. When the majority were on the ship that's when I saw Big Brother descending. There were still some kids at the cantina.
I locked eyes with Efren who nodded. I nodded, then took off towards the front of the Cantina. Branches whipped at my face, and cut me. My heart pounded, and my feet barely touched the ground as I ran. I reached the front of the cantina and leaned against it.
My breath cut my lungs, but I forced myself to catch my breath. Big Brother wasn't at the cantina which allowed me time to recharge and think. I heard footsteps behind me. I whipped around to see Theo.
"What are you doing?!?!" I hissed.
"Helping you." Theo says.
"I told Efren not too." I hiss.
"You told Efren not too, but you didn't say a word about me. And it's not because he doesn't trust you. He trusts you with his life. It's because you assume you have to do everything on your own when you don't have too. Besides we're out of time." Theo says and gestures towards Big Brother emerging from the tree line.
I scoffed, then took my post up again.
"Can I help you?" I call to them.
"We're looking for someone by the name of Sandstorm." They say.
I pause.
"I've never heard that name." I say.
I walk towards them. I notice they tensed, and went to grab their weapons. I stopped. Theo stood in front of the door.
"Well that's funny, because I have intel that she's here." The guy says.
"Are you sure your intel's right? Because I know everyone and that name doesn't sound familiar." I say.
"Positive." He says.
I shrug.
"Why do you need them?" I ask.
"Big Brother classified information." The guy says.
"Big Brother doesn't exist anymore, therefore it's not classified." I hiss, then summon my swords and before they can react I slash my sword across the guys abdomen.
"You need to leave." I say.
