Monsters Inc. Alternate Ending

"Kitty..?"

The story opens in the ground floor of Monsters Incorporated. We find Mike, Sully, and boo walking down the east hall. As they were about to enter to the main floor of the doors a siren blares and scares boo into Sully's arms. He holds her close as the intercom goes off. "WE HAVE A 2319! I REPEAT WE HAVE A 2319!" Sully starts to run towards the exit but is closed off by the emergency gates. All the lights go out and the windows are covered with large plates to keep in all the suspected objects. Sully grabs Mike and boo by their backs under their shoulders and sprints under a table and hides. Once they catch their breaths Sully is the first to speak. "If anything happens, take boo some where safe." Mike nods in agreement and looks over to the commotion. The CDA Has dropped in through the open windows before they are quickly closed. They start yelling and tackling each other after theobject is thrown at an officer. After thy have almost killed each other, the siren stops blaring and the intercom beeps once and the ground floor manager says solemnly "I'm sorry to inform you all, but the CDA has failed to save us. Unfortunately we will have to com-" he stops and moves away from the microphone to calm himself down. He resumes his last few words, " unfortunately we will have to commence self destruct." Gasps and cries arise throughout the floor. Mike and Sully look at each other. They knew how long until the self destruction would take them. Mike started to tear up but sully abruptly stops him and says " get Into this." He pulls out a big cap like dome big enough for Mike and Boo. It took Mike a second to understand what sully meant but quickly rejected his offer. " Sully no.. I-I can't do that. What about you? No I-" sully cut him off, " MIKE, JUST DO IT. *sigh* Mike, I know how hard it must be to even fathom what I'm asking you to do, but I need you to do this. For me." Sully laid his hands on Mike and boo's shoulders. "Please. I'll make it." Sully tried to reassure Mike but he knew sully was lying. "T-minus 35 seconds until detonation." The intercom interrupted. "MIKE NOW PLEASE!" He yelled. Sully calmed down and hugged Mike and boo. Boo started to cry. They got under the dome and held their ears. "T-minus 10,9,8,7-" the intercom counted down. By now sully, Mike and Boo started to cry."3,2,1. We are so sorry." The last announcement rang in all the monsters ears until the catastrophe commenced. It was easily 2 hours after the detonation that the ringing had stopped in Mike and Boo's ears. "Boo close your eyes. We're gonna play peak-a-boo. Okay?" Mike said softly in boo's ear. "O-okay, mikwazowski." Mike pulled boo close to his chest and tried tostand up under the dome to push it off. When he looked out of the dome he saw something he would never forget. The sky had turned a dark orange. The sky was filled with black smoke coming from the once beautiful city. He heard no one crying or groaning from the explosion that took place. They were the last ones in the city. "Kitty?" Boo whispered. " No boo, kitty had to go." Mike explained. " Will he be back?" " No, no he won't. But, I'll keep you safe. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise."
