“What’s up, Adam? Why in the world would you come over here in this snow?” I looked in Adam’s eyes, a little concerned.
“What? You’re not happy to see me?” He asked, smiling.
I laughed and playfully punched his arm. “Come on, Adam! What are you doing here?”
“You really want to know?” His left eyebrow went up as he asked this.
Something was up. This was just way too suspicious.
“Spill it, Adam!” I commanded.
“Okay, okay guess what?” He asked me.
I sighed, putting my palms to my face, covering my eyes. “What?” I asked, my voice sounding muffled.
“Well, there’s this contest on Twitter.” He started.
I looked at him, removing my hands from my face.
“It’s a contest to meet…”
My heart just about stopped beating. He hadn’t even finished his sentence, but I knew what he was going to say. I straightened up, smiling so big, I had to bite my lower lip a little to contain myself.
“…Three Reality.” He finished.
I have to admit, I screamed a little. I mean, how often do you get a chance to meet the person you love. I love all of them, but Logan, he was who I was thinking about. Everyone else is lucky enough to know who they love. Yet, Logan’s everything I’ve ever wanted, but he had to come in the package of a celebrity. It was beyond unfair, but that’s life. I hugged Adam.
“Thank you so much, Adam! You don’t know how sweet it was of you to come all of the way over here just to tell me that!” I told him. “You’re the best!”
“I know.” He said as I released him from the hug.
I looked into his misty green eyes, and he smiled at me. I couldn’t help it; I had to hug him again.
“Whoa!” He exclaimed, laughing.
“I love you!” I said to Adam, releasing him from the hug again.
“I love you, too.” He said.
Of course we were only saying ‘I love you’ as friends, not like a couple or something.
“How do I win?” I asked, leaning forward intently.
“Well, it says here, you have to write no more than a page on why it should be you.”
This is going to be so easy, I thought. I looked at the article on Adam’s phone, then back up at him.
“Do you think I have a chance?” I asked him, my eyes filled with concern at the sudden thought that someone else might win.
“Of course.” Adam exclaimed, with a tone that said he meant it.
I smiled up at him.
“Look, since we don’t have school today, I should probably get caught up on my work.” He said, breaking our eye contact.
I thought he sounded sad for a moment, but I couldn’t really tell. He got up, and started for the door.
“Adam?” I called after him.
“Yeah?” He turned around.
I looked down at the floor, then back up at him.
“Thank you so much, for everything.”
