I poured the smoothie into my glass as Nat explained her mission she had. My mind falling blank as I saw him walk in.

"Well hey there stud." I winked at him and he walked behind the counter, next to me. Grabbing a grape off the stem, he popped it in his mouth nudging me slightly.

"Hey darling. Is Nat boring off your ear?" He remarked looking down at me. Nat moved her eyes between us before rolling them and standing up from the stool.

"When you guys stop being gross, let me know." She walked out and Clint smiled.

"That was perfect, now if we just amp it up every time, soon we will finally make her jealous." He grabbed a few more grapes and left as well, leaving me alone in the kitchen with my thoughts.

"What the hell is happening?" I jumped at the voice and looked at Tony.

"Don't scare me like that!" I grabbed my smoothie and drank a bit. "I don't know what you are talking about."

"Please you get both flight and speed and you still get scared when I come around. Also you and Clint are getting really close from what it looks like." He opened the fridge grabbing a beer.

"You are just mad I was hit with gamma and didn't die immediately. Anyway, Clint and I are just friends, nothing more." I crossed my arms watching him closely.

"That awful flirting with Nat? Jarvis catches everything, Stella. You can't hide things from me." He chuckled and drank from his bottle.

"Trust me, there is nothing going on." I reassured him, as well as myself.

Rumors kept spreading around the tower that we were a thing, but we really weren't. I kept trying to convince myself I wasn't falling for him. But he kept getting too close, I felt the heat radiator off him as he held me tightly. I knew his mind was on Nat but I couldn't help but wish it were me. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face in his chest.

It escalated, from simple banter to kisses on the cheek. He would try anything to get her attention if only he knew he was hurting me too. I pushed myself away, tears forming but I wouldn't let them fall.

"I can't do this anymore." I turned away heading to the elevator.

"Wait, Stella!" He quickly caught up. "What do you mean you can't do this anymore?"

I clicked the button and waited. "Its obviously no working Clint, she doesn't see through it. She isn't getting jealous, so what's the point?"

"The point is for me to end up with her, we just have to keep going so she will begin to get jealous. We are getting so close, I can feel it." A ding caught my attention as the elevator doors opened. I went in and scanned my ID, clicking the 14th floor.

"I'm done Barton." The door closed as I felt my body slump. It was for the best, its obvious he doesn't like me so why the fuck should I care about what happens to his relationship with Nat. Feeling the elevator stop I sped through the lab gathering items to build my suit. Anything to distract me from him.

I

punched the black hanging bag repeatedly until my knuckles were sore.
