Chapter 1

Today is November 25th, its that time of the month when everyone gets ready to go crazy. And when I mean crazy, I literally mean crazy, Black Friday always seems to be the talk of the month. Breaking news! Shopper gets punched in the face for a pair of half priced slippers. Honestly I have no idea what goes down on Black Friday, I could care less about new and improved whatever. All I know is that Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. The autumn leafs, cool weather and sunny feels up and down my arms. Lets not forget the best part though, being able to see my family.

I was born in San Diego, California, thats where most of my family lives now. But after the divorce my mother thought that it would be best to keep us out of the hardcore party environment so she moved us to Avalon, a little rich city surrounded by the sea. I don’t see why she would worry though I have never been one to party. I guess you could call me the little insecure girl who enjoys keeping to herself. If you see a girl with shoulder length brown hair, a pair of large rimmed black glasses and a novel that she can’t keep her nose out of, it might just be me. Do me a favor, don’t say hi. I like my peace and quiet.

You might take me as one of those typical nerdy type girls, to be honest I could care less about the label you put on me. I’m simply a girl who doesn’t like people, loves red & black, always has a new pairs of Jordans on and can’t help but indulge herself in a good read. Call me a jock cause i’m on the varsity basketball team, a goth cause I wear a bit too much black or even a lesbian since yes I still haven’t had a boyfriend before. Whatever. All I know is that I know who I am, can’t handle it? Well then maybe you need some prayer my friend.

So anyways enough of my little ramble. Here I am walking into my favorite coffee shop no one likes to go to, or so I thought. I see this tall, black haired and well built kid, okay dude, sitting in my chair. My chair! Like c’mon I only ask for one thing, a little respect for my stuff. It might not have my name on it, but it sure has the memories to call it mine.

I clear my throat and tap the guy on the shoulder to grab his attention, “excuse me fine sir, but uh thats kind of my chair you’re sitting in.” You have got to be kidding me, the guy didn’t even spare me a glance. Stupid. Gah. “Uh sir? Excuse me? Yo bro! Get out me seat!” Finally!

Mr. I’m too cool for you turned his head toward me showing off his breath taking honey dew eyes that I swear looked yummy enough to eat. Now I know how Shrek feels. “Yes miss…?” He spoke and must I say it sent chills down my spine.

“Uh, Green.” I replied unsure of why I was standing in front of him in the first place.

“Nice too meet you, and you tapped my shoulder why?” Oh yeah now I remember!

“You’re in my seat.” I said.

“Uh huh, and I care why?” He really wants to get punched.

“Because I can easily break you if you don’t get up.” I smiled. Hah!

“Is that so?”
