"How the fuck did you even have time to finish your homework after all that?" Billy asked as he was rushing to finish his poem that was due today. We were supposed to read them a loud to the class.

"I guess I just got bored." I shrug.

"Yea right. Not with what we did. You slept till like one in the afternoon." He says smirking leaning closer. I roll my eyes and push his face away. He just laughs and continued to scribble something down.

Hannah Thompson was now finished reading her dramatic poem about cheese and how good it is. I heard her friends dared her to do it.

"That was a very interesting poem Ms. Thompson." Our teacher says. "Ms. L/N, you're next."

"Here I go." I say to Billy. He hasn't seen my poem at all. I told him it was a surprise, partly so he doesn't try and copy my poem and just reword it.

I stand in front of the podium and clear my throat.

"My poem is called California." I say. This peaks Billy's interest. "Your eyes are blue like the ocean. Your golden blond locks soft like the sun and your smile is as bright as the sun. Your lips are soft and taste like the cotton candy from the boardwalk. It's music to my ears when you speak. I die and go to heaven every time. Your personality reminds me of the carnival. Fun and ecstatic. You coming into my life was a miracle. I never knew that I needed you until now. You're both my friend and lover. Thanks California, you are truly the best."

The class claps as I run to my seat. Billy cups my face and gives me a kiss. I deepened it by pulling his face in some more. There were hoots and hollers from around the room. We pull away and laugh.

"Settle down class, settle down. Ms. L/N that was a lovely poem." Our teacher said.

"Thank you." I responded.

"Mr. Hargrove, you're next."

"Here I go." Billy says in a mocking tone. I laugh a little.

He looks at his paper and scrunched up his face. He then bawls it up and threw it away. "I'm just going to do this as we go along."

There were cheers around the class. "Roses are red, violets are blue, the heavens open whenever I see you. I know we've only known each other for like a couple months but, I just want you to know that... I love you."

My heart exploded. Everyone cheers really loudly. Billy keeps direct eye contact with me. I don't dare look away.

"I love the way you always look out for others. How you look in the face of danger and dare it to make a move. Your smile makes my day even when I'm down. You help me out a lot even when it isn't needed." He says.

I found out about his father being abusive. One night Billy showed up to my window with a bloody and swollen face. I had to clean him up. He had told me what happened and I begged him for weeks on end to tell someone about it but, he just got really irritated and told me to drop it so I did. I don't fully agree with him but I understand.

"You're the heaven to my hell. Whenever I'm around you I can be myself without having the fear of being judged. I can tell you anything. You're kind, beautiful, and super goofy. I'm proud to call you mine. You're my princess." He finished. I had tears in my eyes.

"And you're my knight in a leather jacket." I say. The class cheers. I run up to him and he picks me up and spins me. He puts me down and gives me a quick peck. "I love you too Hargrove."
He just smiles brightly at me.

"Help me find it!" Dustin yells. We scrambled around the house looking for the brown paper bag. Dustin finds it in the kitchen and Steve rings on the doorbell.

We rush to the bathroom and fix up his hair. "You look good, now let's go!" I says.

The doorbell rings for like the hundredth time. We run out the door past Steve and hop in his car. On the way to the school I give Dustin pointers on how to win over girls. We pull up and he looks scared.

"Hey, hey, hey don't be scared. Just remember. Be nice. Be a gentleman, chivalry isn't dead." I say. Steve raises an eyebrow.

Dustin sighs and looks in the review mirror. Steve takes his hand. "What are you doing? You look great ok? You look great."

Dustin nods. "Now you're gonna go in there." Steve says.

"Yea." Dustin agrees.

"Look like a million bucks." Steve continues.

"Yea." Dustin agrees again.

"And you're gonna slay 'em dead." Steve finishes.

"Like a lion." I say and roar. Dustin purrs using his pearls.

"Don't-Don't do that ok?" Steve asked.

"Ok." Dustin says. I give him a kiss on the cheek and Steve does a handshake.

"Good luck." Steve and I say. Dustin gets out the car. Steve's eyes are stuck on something inside the building. I peak to see exactly what he's looking at to see that he's looking at Nancy.

"It's going to be ok Stevie." I put my hand on his shoulder.

"I know. I just really miss her you know." He sighs. "But that's not important right now. Right now we are about to have a good night."

"Onward to the cinema sir!" I yell. He presses the gas pedal and we're off into the night.

Me, him, Billy, Nathan, and Alex are all going to the movies then out to eat tonight. He finally asked her out which made us scream, literally. After that Billy and I are going to pick Max up from the dance. I'm spending the night at his house. Tonight is going to be so much fun!

I take one last look at my empty bed room. I've made so many memories here. I can remember the first day that I stepped foot in here. It felt so foreign. But now, it hurts my heart to say goodbye.

"That's everything." Steve says coming up behind me. He noticed the tears in my eyes. He put an arm around my shoulder. "It's going to be ok Y/N."

I sniffle. "I know. It's just so hard to say goodbye that's all."

"We'll always be here when you need us. We're just one call away." He says.

"Hey babe! We need to get going!" I hear Billy yell from down the hall.

"Coming!" I yell back. I take a deep breath.

"It's time kiddo." Steve says. I pull him into a tight hug. He hugs me back and rested his head on mind. "I'm going to miss you."

"I'm going to miss you too." I say. We let go and walk out the house.

Billy convinced me to let him come to New York with me. He was worried that I'd lose touch with him. He didn't want me to have to experience this world alone. Especially somewhere I've never been. This was good for him. He needed to get out of that house. Away from his horrible dad.

Everyone was here. Hopper, Mrs. Byers, the party, El, Max, Alex, Nathan, Nancy, Jonathan, Steve, and of course Billy. My family.

I walked around and gave everyone a hug. We were all crying of course, but Dustin and Alex cried the most. It was so hard saying goodbye. Once in the passenger seat of Billy's Camaro I wiped my tears away. He took my hand in his.

"It's going to be ok baby." He reassures.

"Yea I know. I got you by my side so I'm not alone." I say.

"You never will be." He smiled.

I chuckled a bit. "I love you Billy Hargrove."

"And I love you too Y/N L/N." He says. He puts the key in the ignition and starts the car. I gave him a quick, savory kiss and we drive off down the street starting our new life together. This has been one hell of an adventure. I've lost some things along the way, but gained some new things too. At the end of the day I came out on top and better than ever. Now, let's move on to a new chapter of this exciting new story.
