Sumita and Laika are not related.
They both came from the same "orphanage", which turns out to be a facility which did experiments on kidnapped (furry) children, turning them into different textures (idk what word. texture sounds like minecraf t) in order to serve for a secret army. But these two were obviously failed ones, so they were abandoned in a dungeon of the supposed orphanage, and were waiting to go into the incinerator for their ultimate deaths. But Sumita managed to find a way out while the guards were on rotation. She did not realize that there was a tinier Laika following her, and from then on they became close sisters.
Their life was good, although being orphans, they still managed to find a good foster family and life was great. But *their story had to be cliche so* one day, they woke up and found their beloved foster parents gone. The army had captured them, and in order to let them live the sisters had to turn in themselves. Sumita acknowledged that was a trap, and that their parents were dead. Laika insisted that they lived, and Sumita had to listen to her, because Laika was already being held by the army. When they arrived back at the nightmare they escaped from, they were taken to a prison cell, and were under the watch of guards. Laika cried, and regretted coming here, while Sumita freaked out a little in the corner. But there was one guard, she let them out, because she could not stand looking at the two being tortured. So, Sumita and Laika ran out as fast as they could, they were never found again by the army since the guard helped them, and lived with each other in peace.
