Hey everyone this is my first story that i have ever published on wattpad, so if you judge my story  harshly or not go right ahead; I love the criticism. I live for it, so leave comments if necessary. Thank you

“Honey, it’s time to get up. You will be late for school,” my mom yelled. I slowly opened my eyes. The sun was shining through the blinds on my window, blinding me with agonizing light. I quickly shield my eyes with my arm.

“Grace, I’m serious. Are you up yet?” Mom called again. I lowered my arm and rolled my eyes. Why wouldn’t I be awake, your screeching would wake the dead, I thought.

“Grace, I’m counting to three. One, two, …”

“I’m getting up, Mom, jeez!” I yelled to her.

        “Okay honey.”

I threw off my covers, groaning with the effort and dreading the day to come. I stood up and stretched until I felt all my joints pop. I walked over to my closet and picked out a walked over to my closet and picked out a neon-pink T-shirt that read ‘Never take life seriously. Nobody gets out alive anyway,' which had become my life motto, a black mini-shirt and pair of pink leggings out of my dresser. I made my way over to the bathroom almost tripping over my cat, Bast, and hitting my shin against my nightstand. While mumbling a few chosen curse words, I quickly shut the bathroom behind me and laid my clothes onto the laundry hamper.

I took my time undressing; tossing the dirty clothes onto the ground. I grabbed my shirt and pulled it over my head. Then unzipped my skirt and pulled it on next and the leggings followed after. Lastly, I pulled on my black and white knee-high converses. Once I finished pulling the zippers tight, I turned to face the sink and grabbed my brush off the counter. I quickly brushed my thick, long, brown hair until it cascaded wildly down my back. I grabbed my toothbrush and quickly brushed my teeth and put on my deodorant. To finish up, I put on some light green eye shadow that really made my hazel-green eyes pop.

I don’t know why I’m wasting my time. Nobody is going to see it anyway, I thought. I opened the bathroom door making my way to my nightstand. I grabbed my sunglasses and made my way downstairs.

The first thing I saw as I made my way into the kitchen, was my mom making a dozen pancakes. Dad was already sitting at the table with my big brother derek and my twin little sisters, Hope and Faith. If you had notice the names, you can see that our mom wanted us to live up to our names. Well, this works great for Faith and Hope, but I'm anything but graceful. Derek caught a glimpse of me as I made my way to the table.

"Hey sis, did you finally decide to wake up and grace us with your presence," he said with a grin.He had told the same pun every morning since he was seven and I was five, and he was seventeen now, the joke was getting old.

"Ha, ha, very funny Derek. Are you ever going to come up with a better joke?" I asked him.

"Why would I do that when this one works just fine?"

"Okay, whatever," I rolled my eyes. I turned my eyes to the giant stack of pancakes wanting in front to me.

"I'm glad you could make it," Mom said.

"Better late than never, right?" I said with a grin. My mother ignored me, but what else is new? She doesn't appreciate my sense of humor. Suddenly Dad looked up from his pancakes he was gorging on, like he finally noticed my presence.
