The ring of my alarm woke me up. As I grumbled and shut it off, I managed to get out of bed. Like I did everyday, I started my morning routine. Today was a little different. Just yesterday I asked out a cute girl and now I was going to text her.
Me:Hey! I'm the girl you gave your number to yesterday in a coffee shop
Unknown Number:Oh hi! I thought you were going to text me yesterday so I got confused and thought you didnt actually like me 😣
Me:I'm so sorry! I'm actually a student at the nearby college so I'm busy a lot
Unknown Number:That's okay
Unknown Number:So when do you wanna go out on a date? My name's Aria btw 😁
Me:Um today would be great if possible. My name's Caylie! 😊
Aria:Yay! Okay so we could go to the movies? If that's okay with you
Me:Thats sounds really fun!
Aria:Okay! 😋
We discussed which movie we would see and how we were going to meet. Throughout the whole time butterflies wizzed around in my stomach. I put my hand on my cheeck and smiled.

My classes passed by quickly. The whole day I waited for the bell to ring. I rushed out of class into my dorm and checked my phone. We were supposed to meet in the movie theater parking lot in about an hour. My hands skimmed through the clothes until I found an outfit I liked.
After I tossed the clothes on my bed, I went straight to the bathroom to do my makeup. After twenty or so minutes I was finished. I wore light makeup, so it was mostly just foundation, eyebrow filler, eyeliner, and chapstick. I smiled. My reflection didn't look so bad for once. I put my clothes on with accessories and shoes. I was wearing skinney jeans, a cute sweater, and boots. I looked in the mirror agian and took my hair down. My fingers desperately tried to fix my medium blue hair.
I went straight to the dorm parking lot where my car was. After a few minutes of driving I had arrived at the movie theater. It was pretty much empty except a few cars.
"Caylie!" A girl shouted waving her hand. I turned around and saw Aria, immediately blushing. She wore light wash jeans, a cute jacket, and high tops. We started walking to the doors of the large building. "You look really cute today!"
"You too! Though, you look much better than me," I told her and opened the doors for us. As we stepped in, the smell of popcorn immediately filled our senses. The place was covered in red and black with screens of movies all over the place.
"Nonsense! You look better!" She said right back. The line was very small at the food counter, so we were able to walk right to the front, discussing something about movies. We both decided to order a large popcorn to share and other foods and candies. After we got our preferred amount of food, we went straight to our movie after handing in our tickets.
Inside, we found seats at one of the top rows and sat down. We talked and smiled as several ads flashed on screen. Currently, we were having a flirty conversation about our intrests.
"So you said that you were a student at college. What's your degree?" She brought up and took a sip of soda.
"Oh well, I've always wanted to be an astronaut. Actually there's only half a year left till I graduate. I'm just studying mathematics, biology, physics, and computer science," I explained. Her eyes lit up and sparkled.
"That's amazing! You must be so smart," she said thoughtfully.
"Heh. Something like that." I looked at the screen for a moment. "So what about you? What do you do?" She put her hand on her cheek.
"Well right now I'm working as a barista, buy I'm aspiring to become a painter one day," she sighed. "It probably won't ever happen though."
"That's not true!"
"Huh?" She looked at me curiously. I gulped.
"I-I mean," I searched for the words and courage in my head. "You're clearly a very talented and hardworking person! I'm sure you'll accomplish your dreams!" She blushed, then smiled.
"Thank you. I hope so too," she wished as the lights dimmed. "Looks like the movie's starting!" I nodded and tore my attention from her pretty eyes to look at the large screen.
We decided to watch a romance with a hint of tragedy. It was okay. Mostly I couldn't focus on anything but her arm so close to mine. She occasionally took a sip of her drink or eat the candy next to her. For some reason, she was all I could think about even when she was sitting right next to me.
"I trusted you!" cried the girl on screen. I rolled my eyes in the darkness. Something brushed my hand, making me look over. Sure enough, her hand was right next to mine. I quickly looked back at the screen, however her hand slowly moved, until it was on top of mine. She held my hand in the dark space, making me blush and smile. Her hand was so warm...
The movie ended with the couple living happily ever after. If only real life was like that. After a bathroom break and random conversation, we walked out of the building talking about the movie.
"Really!? Personally I think she deserves better than Chad. Like, he's nice and everything but he does not get to tell her how to live her life!" Aria exclaimed as we walked.
"True, but he was the only thing that made her feel better about her horrible life!" I pointed out and she giggled. We stopped at my car, both are shoes halting on the cement. She turned towards me.
"You're really sweet, Caylie. I really like you and want to continue seeing you. Would that be okay?" She asked and looked down at the ground, her lond blonde hair flowing in the wind. By now the stars were out and the moon shined above us.
"Of course! You're wonderful, and kind, and beautiful, and-" She bent down slightly and kissed me on the cheek. My face was tinted pink.
"Bye Caylie!" She told me and started walking to her own car.
"Bye Aria," I said, still surprised. Throughout the car ride back to my dorm, my mind was blank. However, by the time I had arrived at my dorm, I was already processing what happened. I walked in, flopped on my bed, and screamed into my pillow while my face was red.
