Apparently, Steve and Alex own their own horses. He refuses to say what his horse is named, but he told me that Alex's is named Seolla. He let me ride the beautiful white-maned horse because he figured that Alex would need a ride later on.
We're now currently still having our horses run as fast as they could go. Thankfully, the ride wasn't that painful since the horses are steadily running, but for the first time since I came here, I was able to feel the wind on my skin.
It was an amazing experience, seeing the beautiful landscapes and jumping over lava-tainted ravines— it was mesmerizing. I don't know what Steve is doing over there (he's leading us (we're both holding the ends of a leash just in case I unknowingly lead Seolla somewhere else)), but he's clearly not interested in sightseeing. Well, if the life of someone I love is on the line, I would probably think the same way.
We traveled for a little bit more until the scenery changed. There's this gap in the distance, and there's a different terrain as well. Over that gap, however, is something manmade. . . And big. I held Seolla's mane tightly as we approached it. It's a bridge made out of oak, a really, really long one. And beyond that, is a whole other world from the one we're currently on.
The swamp.
Is that what they meant by island? A whole swamp island?
Steve said that there are more islands surrounding the one we're on. A specific island for each biome, like a whole different planet.
As we crossed the bridge, I listened to the satisfying sound the horses made with their hooves. There's not much to see beyond, but below the bridge is a narrow body of water running diagonally. Actually, not really narrow, but I guess water surrounds all the islands. There's a huge gap between the general island and the swamp island, too (which can be seem by the sudden change in the color of the water, like there's some kind of invisible barrier between the swamp water and the normal water), so I guess this was better than swimming across.
By the time we reached the swamp territory, we had only about five minutes left. The horses' speed didn't falter, and we continued onwards until we reached a certain point of distance from the bridge.
When Seolla stopped, I immediately heard a heavy thump in front of me. I opened my eyes and found Steve walking towards me, his eyes filled with determination. Before he could reach out and drag me off (because that's absolutely something he would do), I dismounted Seolla myself and put my hands together, smiling nervously at him. He didn't waste any time and turned around, walking a few blocks ahead before stopping.
"Here." He said, pointing to the ground. Now that he pointed it out, I see it. There's four blocks of gold on the ground, the same level as the dirt around it.
I followed his movements and crouched. When he placed his hand on the cool surface, I put my hand down as well. Suddenly, from the moment my fingers touched the golden blocks, some kind of holographic screen appeared in front of me with a steady beep. I fell back in surprise, but the screen was still right in front of my face, flashing the words "Resurrection Time: 4.16 minutes." Below that are the words "RESURRECT" and "CANCEL."
I heard Steve heave a sigh of relief beside me. When I looked at him, the green-black patterned screen followed. Although I could see him, the semi-transparent screen still covered my vision. He took his eyes off of mine for a moment and reached out the hand he touched the golden blocks with. The screen followed, as if it was coming from his palms. Wih his other hand, he pressed "RESURRECT" and the screen disappeared.
I took out my right hand and flipped it palm-up. The screen glitched from in front of my face to hovering above my palm. I grinned excitedly and pointed it with my other hand while looking at Steve. He stood up and gave me a dead look. I rolled my eyes and pressed the same thing he did.
