The date is June 26th, 2020. Jessica Jared [Jersey] is out trying to sell her vegetable juice. But no one seems to be interested.
Jersey: Come on, people! You gotta try it!
Man #1: Your juice is gross!
Jersey: No, it's not!
Man #2: Go home, kid.
Jersey sighed in frustration. She was about to pack up for the day. But suddenly, she saw someone. She saw no one other than Minoru Ikeda [Yukata Len] walking around.
Jersey: Hey, you!
But he didn't hear her.
Jersey: HEY!!!
He still didn't hear her. Jessica growled and stomped over to him. She got in front of Minoru. He had his head down.
Jersey: Look at me when I'm talking to you!
He finally looked at her. She immediately felt bad. His blue eyes were filled with tears.
Jersey: Are you okay, sir?
He STILL didn't hear her.
Jersey: Are you deaf?! I asked you if you're okay!
Minoru just lowered his head and walked around her. Jessica was dumbfounded.
Jersey: What is with that guy?
???: That's Minoru Ikeda.
Jersey saw Ethan Bront [Eraser], his girlfriend Tia Forrester [Trip The Light Fantastic], and her younger siblings Polly [Poppin' Delight] and Bernard [Bebop Knave] walk up to her. Bernard had his puppy Honey guide him because he's blind. And Ethan was pushing Gavin, his and Tia's son, around in a stroller.
Jersey: THE Minoru Ikeda? The hermit?
Poppin' Delight: He's not a hermit! He's just going through some tough times right now and wants to be alone all the time.
Jersey: How come?
Trip The Light Fantastic: No one really knows the reason.
Jersey: Then why was he crying?
Poppin' Delight: He was crying?
Jersey: Yeah. I don't like seeing people cry.
Bebop Knave: I've heard rumors that his sisters passed away.
Trip The Light Fantastic: Where in the world did you hear that?
Bebop Knave: On the RealSyd Bulletin. I'm the only one in this family that watches it.
Eraser: When did they die?
Bebop Knave: I think it's been more than a month now.
Trip The Light Fantastic: Poor Minoru. He's the only one left.
Jersey: I thought he was crying because I yelled at him. I wanted him to try my vegetable juice.
Bebop Knave: No offense, Jess, but that stuff is nasty.
Jersey: It is not!
Bebop Knave: Is too!
Trip The Light Fantastic: Okay, you 2. Stop fighting.
Jersey: But here's another weird thing. I was yelling at him, but he ignored me. I asked him if he was okay.
Eraser: Oh, he's deaf. Like Halley Handrolez [Hello World].
Jersey: You're kidding me, right?
Eraser: I wish I was.
Jersey: Now I feel double-bad. I just yelled at a deaf person.
Trip The Light Fantastic: I think he'll be fine. But you still need to apologize to him.
Jersey: How does he communicate with people, then?
Poppin' Delight: You can write words down, or use sign language!
Jersey: I don't know sign language.
Eraser: You better start learning then.
Jersey: Where does he live?
Trip The Light Fantastic: Here.
She wrote down an address on a slip of paper and handed it to Jessica.
Jersey: I think I know where that is. Thanks.
Eraser: We better go. It's time for Gavin to eat.
Jersey: You sure you don't want to take my vegetable juice home with you?
Everyone Else: No!
Jersey: Aw man!
Ethan, Tia, Polly, and Bernard waved goodbye to Jessica and left. Jessica then packed up her things and walked home to learn sign language.
In my friend Allison's HC of Yukata Len, he is 18. And in Tammy180's HC of Jersey, she is 17. Not every Miku has to be older than the Lens in order for them to get together. Every Miku that is paired up with a Len so far is older. I want at least one pairing where the Len is older than the Miku for once. Anyway, Jersey now knows of Yukata Len and his disability. I actually don't know if she actually knows sign language or not. You guys think this pairing is a good idea or not? I'll see you in another story!
