Today is the day, Izuku thought to himself. He was going to go up to the girl that he had liked, and tell her how he felt. He had thought long and hard about this. Even asked his closest friends for advice. Iida had been...less than helpful. But Uraraka had been surprisingly supportive. He remembered her saying that it was best just to get it all out, and he would be fine.

Now, it was just a matter of figuring out the best time. Another obvious answer, even if he didn't think to use that route. Luckily, the best moment was revealed by Uraraka again coming to his rescue.

"Just tell her after your dance lessons/study session, Deku," his best friend had said. Because of course, why didn't he think of that? That's right. He was still a nervous wreck. But, he could do this. He could do this.

I can't do this! He thought, as the two finished up their dance lessons, and were getting freshened up in their separate rooms in preparation for their study session. Maybe I can tell her I'm too tired, and we'll have to cancel the study session? He thought, before mentally hitting himself. I can't do that! She asked me to help her study. To get her grades better. What kind of Hero would I be if I left her to...

Knock knock knock!

"Dude, I can't tell what you're saying, but I can hear you muttering," Mina said through the door, with a giggle that Izuku could only describe as heavenly echoed through the closed door. A golden chuckle that needed to be protected at all cost. He sighed deeply, realizing he had to get this over with.

"It's open!" he managed to belt out. A moment later, the door opened to reveal the girl that had been plaguing every waking thought. She was dressed in a shirt that barely covered her midriff, and shorts that were tight on her, that ended just above her knees.

"Alright!" she said. "Let's do this philosophy homework!" One thing Izuku adored about Mina was how she could find excitement in everything. Even though she was very adamant about how much most of the schoolwork made her feel like a complete idiot, since studying with Izuku, she had reverted to her normal cheerful self when it came to their study sessions.

Of course, Izuku being Izuku, he always assumed it was because of how much she was improving in her grades. She couldn't possibly enjoy hanging out with him. And yet, somewhere along the way, he had fallen for the pink acid user.

"Wow, this is some deep stuff," Mina was saying, as they finished the previous chapter of their philosophy homework. "Especially how you explain things, Midori. I'm so lucky to have you as a study partner!" He weakly smiled.

"Yea," he replied. "Study partners. Though, I'm the one that's lucky." She looked at him curiously. "Your dance lessons have helped me so much. I feel like I've grown more confident. I'm improving my fighting style, and the power of my Quirk with how the dancing has helped my muscles, especially my leg muscles." Mina 'hmm'ed'.

"Confidence, huh?" she playfully jabbed his side, causing him to yelp slightly. "Then why don't you tell me what's on your mind? You've seemed distracted lately, both during our dance lessons, and the study session." Izuku's eyes widened. He was beginning to panic. She really can read people.

"I don't want to burden anybody," he said lowly. "Especially not you." His last words were little more than a whisper, but Mina had heard loud and clear.

"What do mean by especially me?" she asked, curiously. He looked over to her, and was immediately caught by the thing he had noticed first about her. The thing that had truly drawn him to her. Her eyes.

"Have I ever told you how amazing your eyes are?" he said, without thinking. His mouth just started to override his brain, and a tint of lilac crossed Mina's face. She didn't really have time to respond as Izuku continued.

"We read something in philosophy just now. 'The eyes are gateways to the soul.'" He repeated the age-old saying. "In a lot ways that's true, but I also think there's more to it. I can see them being the gateways to the soul for you. Your eyes reflect the kindness, the cheerfulness. You really do care about people. And that's why you're going to make a great Hero one day. People will be able to look you in the eyes, and know they're safe.

"But there's more to it. Your eyes are so beautiful, as are you. I could almost get lost in your black sclera, like a void. But in the center, a bright, shining, golden star, to lead me home." He paused, as the words he said had finally caught up to his brain, and he started to go beet red. Mina's mouth was open, the lilac had turned full on violet. Izuku rubbed the back of his neck.

"I really like you Mina," he pushed out through the embarrassment, so much so that he hadn't realized he had used her first name, instead of the family name he normally addressed everyone by. He took a chance to look up...just in time to see Mina grab his collar and pull him in for a long, passionate kiss.

"Tell me more about my eyes," she whispered to him, smiling.
