Chapter 1: That's Just Genesis Monroe

   STEVE'S POV

  As I stood beside Stark, he said to me,"This will be good for you, Rogers. You know, having another woman on the team. Nat isn't interested in you, so maybe Genesis will be."

  I raised an eyebrow as I said,"Genesis? Is that her name?"

  Stark rolled his eyes, but he nodded before he answered,"Yes, that's her name. I told you her name and her background ten times already. Here.."

  Stark handed me the device in his hand, and a photo of Genesis Monroe came across the screen. She was beautiful, yet it seemed that she lost her brother in the war a couple of years ago.

  Stark said,"Don't get too attached to her, Rogers. She's not the type to always consider other people's feelings, so she's not your type, Rogers. Trust me on this."

  I replied,"I'm not interested in dating her, Stark. I'm only interested in having extra help to add to the dynamic of this team. Her attitude matters, but maybe this team will put her in a better headspace."

  Stark took the device out of my hands before he said,"And if it doesn't put her in a better headspace?"

  I looked over at him as I answered,"Then, we figure it out once we get to that point."

  Natasha walked up to Stark and me as she said,"I'm ready to meet Genesis."

  J.A.R.V.I.S. said,"Captain Rogers, Mr. Stark, and Ms. Romanoff, Mrs. Monroe is here."

  Together, we all walked to the front entrance to meet Genesis. Genesis' sister was with Genesis, and Genesis' sister shook my hand and Natasha's hand. But when she made it to Stark, she kissed him.

  Natasha shook her head, yet she walked up to Genesis before she said,"Welcome, Genesis. I'm Natasha Romanoff."

  Genesis just looked at Natasha, then she rolled her eyes before she said,"You don't need to introduce yourself. I already know who you are. I know who all of you are. Stark, where am I staying?"

  As Stark held Genesis' sister, he smirked at me, and then he looked over at Genesis as he told her,"I'll show you to your room, sweetheart."

  Genesis followed Stark as she said,"Stark, don't call me that ever again."

  I kept Natasha from running after Genesis before I said,"Don't, Nat. Genesis is a part of this team now, and I need the two of you to get along. Please try."

  Natasha sighed, but then she nodded and walked inside.

  Genesis' sister walked over to me, then she said,"She'll come around. Maybe."

  I said,"Maybe?"

  She laughed then said before she got into the car,"Yeah, maybe. Good luck with her."
