《Unrequited Love》

◇ Introduction ◇

It is midnight, in a room filled with action figures and posters, a short and black haired girl with glasses is facing the computer. Cans of soda are piling up on her desk and cups of instant noodles are also filling her trash bin next to her PC desk. Wearing black tanktop and short, she is doing a video call with her guild members. While waiting for the guild war in her favorite RPG game called, "Nine Tales Chronicles" (NTC for short), she is grinding her small accounts so she can sell them for living.

One of the man on the video call is speaking, "Rainfell, have you heard about the local NTC tournament next month?" Raine then stretches her back and looks at the webcam, "Yeaa... I heard it... The winner will be sent for National NTC championship then International one. What it is Capt'? Are you interested on joining?" She rests her chin on her palms and posing at the webcam cutely.

The man which is the guild leader nods, "Yes. I am thinking that our main team already in the level to join such competition. I am not really aiming for the National championship, I just want our guild have this rare experience. So... What do you think Rainfell?"

Raine sips her soda and tosses it to the trash. She doesn't really care about the tournament since she has already know how it feels to compete in the National championship with her old guild under different username. "Nahh... I think I'll pass Capt'... The tournament is taken place in the neighboring city of mine which is taking around 5 hours. And I don't really like outside world y'know?"

Moments, the higher ups in the guild are debating for the tournament. All of them want to join, except of course the Vice Leader, Raine. A good looking man, which has the position as the Guild Guardian finally speaks, "Rainfell, you don't need to take the bus or the train or anything that full of people." Raine is listening to him while grinding her accounts, she only answers with "Hmm" in every words that the man said. Yet the man still continue talking to Raine, "What I am saying is, I'll pick you up and I will also pay you for the accommodations."

Raine stops grinding her accounts and looking at the webcam seriously. "Boy, I know that you are rich and so on. I don't need your pity. I said you all can join, I don't want to okay?" She then laid her back on her gaming chair, trying to ignore the others.

The good looking man won't give up easily, he knows whom Raine likes, "But Rainfell, I heard that your idol Seraphina will be there." He smirks to the cam and Raine who hears upon it startled and falls down making her disconnected from the server and broke her headphone. She is still on the floor, looking up to the ceiling. In daze, she is thinking whether should she join or not. Since she likes Seraphina a lot, her wall is also filled with Seraphina advertising posters. "Seraphina... I want to meet her-"

Raine then tidy herself and takes another headphone. Hurriedly, she connects to the server again and open NTC, looking for the news about Seraphina. The guild members are still waiting for her answer. Couldn't find it yet on the game, Raine choose to open the official website and she finally find the newsletter about the guest star for the tournament. Couldn't contain her happiness, she smiles to the cam and giggles, "Count me in guys!! I'll try my best in the tournament!! And as for now, it's time to plunder Zero-nium castle and achieve as the number one in this guild war!" Everyone then cheering on Raine and finally they log in, to the game.

The guild war is simple, it is almost like pvp but in groups. One guild vs another guild, which there'll be 8 players per guild. Their objective is to claim the other's Tales Orb and take it back to their own castle. NTC itself is an RPG which just like the common RPG, they have warrior, assassin, tanker, sniper, cleric, mage, and other side jobs. In each guild war, one guild can only deploy 3 teams. The guild who has the most winning in a month will take the title as 'Valued Guild'. Not just title, but their members will get special discount in the marketplace. As for in Raine's server, Zero-nium has achieved 3 times a row winning as Valued Guild. Therefore, by breaking their winning streaks could raise a chance to win in the tournament.
