Days, weeks, months passed slowly and Hirato's words came true. Apparently, Kafka started to work again, this time with more power and energy.

Incident after incident, explosions and injured people, destroyed cities...These things started to appear again...after all this time.

After each raid, we found a lot of people injured, some even dead. We were saving what we could. But the rest ...

Winter also arrived, hitting us hard. Already at the end of November, it began to snow and a huge cold formed.

At the end of December, there was again a rather problematic attack, and we were forced to organize a show.

While the show was taking place, Hirato and I were sitting in the captain's tent and chatting, trying to figure out where Kafka would attack next time.

Hirato:-After my analysis of the last days, I noticed that they are attacking us more closely each time. Meaning, they are attacking the cities near us.

Me:-You know, I noticed that too. Most likely they will attack the next time at maximum two hundred and fifty km from us.

I sighed, seeing Hirato agreeing with me.

Me:-I guess we have no choice...

I got up from my chair, stepping outside. When I heard the music and happy screams inside the main tent, I smiled.

I needed a moment alone. So, I went a little further from the tents, a place where no one could bother me. Outside, it was already dark, so i tried to be careful not to hinder or slip on the ice, because the ground was already covered with a layer of snow. The cold had enveloped my body already, thick steam coming out of my nose and mouth. Snowflakes also appeared.

I raised my head completely, closing my eyes. I let some snowflakes touch my face, which already had a rather low temperature, while listening to the music inside the main tent. Opening my eyes a little, I could see how a snowflake, touching my eyelashes, remaining inside them, but melting shortly. I wiped away the water that flowed from the molten flake. I checked the clock on my hand, which showed 8:35 pm.

"I'll stay here for more five minutes" - I thought.

I closed my eyes again, this time focusing on the thought that had been crushing me for a few days: will Kafka again attack directly at the source?

Horrifying screams began to be heard from behind me, followed by a huge rumble. An extremely strong wind covered me, almost pushing me a few inches further. I turned around suddenly, but unfortunately I could not see anything, because the lights were off, and outside it was total darkness. I could hear people screaming, everything being wrapped up in a strong smell of smoke. I remembered that I had a small flashlight in my pocket. I lit it, seeing the smoke coming from the captain's tent.

Me:-Oh God, Hirato !!!

I began to run to the place where the smoke was coming from, while trying to contact Hirato through the earphone I was wearing in my ear. But when I turned it on and tried to speak, there was a very unpleasant buzz to my ears.

Paying attention to the earphone, believing I could somehow contact Hirato, I didn't realize when someone got in front of me. I was hit hard by that person, because after the contact, we both got behind. I dropped my flashlight from my hand, falling within a few feet of me. Fortunately, the flashlight landed so that its beam of light sat on the person in front of me. I managed to see that the person in front of me had a long, brown cape.

Me:-Who are you ?! I asked in a voice full of horror.

But the person did not respond, coming behind me, hitting my neck, me fainting. They moved so fast that all I felt was their hand, hitting my neck.
