A sigh escapes your lips as you watch your boyfriend flirt with River for the fifth time that night. The pair couldn't keep their hands off of each other, it hurt to watch the man you love love another but it wasn't like this was just happening. It had been months, each time the Doctor and River found each other they would throw themselves at each other in front of you, that and the Doctor would go on not so secret outings with River whenever he could.
"Why won't you say something?" Rory asks, you turn your head to see that him and Amy had joined you in one of many doorways. You shrug your shoulders and continue to watch the time lord flirt with the professor.
"What would I say?" you frown as the Doctor takes Rivers hand and pulls her around the console room. Rory gives you a sympathetic smile, he looks at his wife from the corner of his eye.
Amy turns your head to look at her, "You know what needs to be said."
You give her a sad smile as you pull your sleeve over your hand so that you could dab the forming tears in your eyes, "I can't stay." The red heads eyes widen, she shakes her head, "I can't stay Amy, none of this is going to change. Look at them, they love each other."
Amy narrows her eyes at the pair in the console room before taking yours and Rory's hand, she leads you down the halls and towards your bedroom. She pushes the door open with her foot and nudges the two of you inside.
"I don't want you to leave." you give her a look that makes her sigh, "But if that what you want then we'll help you pack. I'm not going to let you do this by yourself."
You wrap your arms around her, pulling her into a hug, "I'm going to miss you the most."
Rory puts a hand to his heart, "I am hurt. I thought we were like family."
"We are family you dork." you pull away from the hug and drop to your knees to look under the bed, you reach your hand under and pull out two duffle bags. You jump to your feet and chuck a bag to each of them.
It only took a couple of minutes for you to pack, turns out you didn't have much on board the ship. Rory held up your coat, you smile at him before slipping your arms in and taking your bags from Amy. They start following you out but you shake your head.
"I think it's best if I do this alone." they pull you into one last hug. You take a deep breath then walk back to where you came. The Tardis hums sadly as you walk towards the control room, the console glows red as you drop your bags on the floor.
The Doctor looks from River to the console to you. He looks to the floor, your bags making his eyes widen. Rivers eyes are full of guilt as the Doctor lets go of her hand and rushes over to you. The time lord reaches out his hand, a frown forms on his face as you move away.
You refused to meet his eyes, one look into those green dream worlds and you'd breakdown, "You know the address."
"Why?" his eyes lace with tears but you just shake your head and pick up your bags.
"Take me home."
He swallows the lump in his throat as he trudges over to the controls, the console all but yells at him as he places his fingers on the switches. He hangs his head as he puts the ship into the vortex, the ride was gentle for once, nothing like you were used to.
You don't spare him a second glance as the ship lands, you walk straight past him and River and out the ships door. The Doctor falls against the console, his eyes watch you walk back to the place you once called the nine rings of hell. He looks to River but she refuses to meet his eyes, "Why did she leave?" he asks the woman infront of him.
"Because she refused to be part of a love triangle when she never truly had a chance of coming out on top." Amy says from behind him, Rory squeezes his wives shoulder before he runs out of the Tardis to check on you.
The Doctor looks at her with confusion, "Love triangle?"
The red head shakes her head, "You broke her heart. If River knows that then why don't you." Amy frowns and follows Rory into your house.
The Doctor places his head in his hands. Of course he knew what they were on about but he had been ignoring the fact he had been abandoning you for so long that the thought of him breaking your heart didn't register in his mind. You loved him, despite the fact you had to watch him love another. He loved you, he really did but he seemed to forget that every time River stepped foot on the ship. The woman made you disappear and although he hated to admit it, he knew he would never love you like he loved her.
He never would.
