{ So this takes place after the Grand Magic games. This is going to end up being very long and open ended. It's mostly fluff but I will have several original arcs of my own in here. I will be taking chapter requests, kinda like one shots but they have to fit into the story. No marriage or kid requests, I already have plans}

"Levy-chan, " The bluenette tried to ignore the heat in her cheeks and return to her reading. " No Lu-chan." She said sternly, flipping the page of the book she was no longer reading. " Just ask him to come with you! You know you want to!" Lucy whined. At this point in time the two girls were arguing about who to invite to the Winter Festival in Magnolia. It was a week before Christmas, when most guild members left to see family across the country. "Are you going with Natsu?" Levy asked slyly.

It was now Lucys turn to flush. " We are not talking about me right now. We are talking about you and your slayer pro-" Before the poor blonde could finish, Levy had wrapped her scarf around her friends face to silence her. " Just shout it out why don't you?!" She hissed as Lucy struggled to get the scarf off. "Levy, why not?" Lucy asked, now free.

Levy sighed before laying her head on her book. "He doesn't like me, why would he want to go with me?" Lucy rolled her eyes at her love sick friend. If only she could see what the others did. "Levy you don't know that. Just ask Gajeel. What could it hurt?" I could get my heart torn to little bitty pieces. Levy thought to herself. " Ask Gajeel what?" A gruff voice behind them asked, making the bluenette squeek. Levy turned, now noticing a conveniently missing Lucy. " Uh, hey Gajeel." She smiled shyly up at the rough slayer as he looked down at her. He wore a heavy black jacket and a gray scarf hung loose around his neck, snow speckled his long hair.

Be bold Levy! It was worth a shot. " I was, um... Well," her insides were a mess of butterflies and hot nerves as she tried to get the words out. " I ain't got all day Shrimp." He snapped but it wasn't harsh. She puffed out her cheeks as they reddened. " Will you got to the festival with me?" She finally got out, eyes glued to her fingers in her lap. He was silent for a moment, and if she had been looking, she wouldn't have missed the look that crossed his face. " No." Was his gruff answer. She felt like a hot iron had been shoved through her heart. Of course not.

"Ok!" She smiled up at him, though she could feel her eyed watering. " It was worth a shot asking. I'm just gonna head back home then." She thought she was rambling now as she pulled on her cost and scarf, trying not to focus on the hollow feeling in her stomach and the burning in her chest. She grabbed her book and walked past him into the snow outside. The cold stung where the warm tears cut paths down her cheeks, and as soon as she was inside the gates of Fairy Hills, she sprinted inside.

Gajeel sat in the back of the guild at his usual table, trying to ignore the stare of a certain black exceed. " Why did you say no?" Lily asked, deciding his glare wasn't working. " Drop it cat." Gajeel muttered as he munched on a bolt. " You know you want to go with her." He said. And he did want to go with her. He wasn't a festival type man, the crowds and loud people were not his favorite things. But to spend time in the bookworms company?

" I shouldnt..." Gajeel muttered, placing a nail back on his plate. Lily smiled softly, knowing the big man's train of thought. "She's forgiven you. If word of the grape vine holds any water, I believe she fancies you." Lily said slyly. The slayer tried to ignore the slight heat in his cheeks. " Also, the way she looks at you. It's hard to miss." He added, before Gajeel could shrug it off.

The dragon slayer frowned at his plate of scrap metal, his mind going a hundred miles an hour. He suddenly shoved himself away from the table and stood, stopping out the door. The exceed grinned and nodded before joining Wendy and Charla for a card game.
