The last time I had boys on my mind was in sixth grade. five years later, I hadn't even considered the fact that they were going to be on my mind again. I guess I was just too busy to worry about them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The first day of school and I had to be late. It's not like I was going to a new school or anything, I had been with the same kids in the same school for five years, but I still wish I wasn't going to be late. My alarm clock hadn't gone off for some reason. I reached to my nightstand to grab my glass of water, and I accidentally hit it.

"Ah!" I let out a small yelp as water poured on my pajamas. Disgruntled I quickly grabbed the empty glass of water, placing it beside my family photo. I looked at my very large, very different family and our smiling faces. A wave of thankfulness surged through me.

5 years ago, my large family and I moved to the small town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. My family had gotten an amazing business offer, and we jumped on it. We were offered some amazing money grants, boosting our farming business a ton.

The move was exhausting and stressful. Some pretty harsh things happened, including my father's death due to a heart attack. He was our cornerstone. The one who would put the amazing ideas into action. Sorrow filled the whole family. But together we pulled through. Now we have a booming business. A beautiful bed and breakfast, amazing birds and animals on display, a grand bakery, and bountiful harvests. On a Wing and a Prayer is the name of the farm. Serving its costumers with family-friendly service, from family and friends.

Moving to a new school, here in Niagra-On-The-Lake, was hard at first. But when you go to school with about ten of your family members, I guarantee you won't be eating lunch all by yourself. The kids at school were very nice, and two weeks in I made my best friend, Grace Hilker. My family and I learned how to survive in the new town. Eventually thrive. I love my life now, and wouldn't wish for anything more.

I ran down the creaky stairs of our rustic house, entering the cafe. The red brick walls and wooden interior gave out a warm mood. I passed my aunt Sarah and cousin Amelia, as they put out the heavenly cupcakes and pastries made this morning on the display shelves. I breathed in the sweet smell and gave a quick hello.

"Someone's late for school!" My cousin teased.

"Gotta run!" I replied, bursting out the glass door.

And I breathed it in. Extreme beauty. It still left me awe-struck, no matter how many times I saw it. The ornate fountain in front of me letting out a relaxing trickle. The cobblestone path underneath my feet that eventually lead to the waterfowl pond, was lined with stunning greenery, several german styled buildings, and a huge red barn. The landscaping at our farm was exceptional. Flowers and plants of every kind, an expansive fruit orchard and a massive collection of exotic chickens, peafowl, pheasants and other birds.

A blue peacock with a large fully-fledged tail strutted by, readying itself to impress the customers that would be coming in an hour. I smiled in admiration.

"Hey, Ari!" My cousin Shayne cheerfully said, hurrying past me into the cafe with a basket of eggs.

    "Good morning!" I responded.

I made my way over to the main restaurant area, that connected to the cafe. As I walked up the steps of the grand wooden porch I could hear "Breakfast is ready!" Echoing from inside.
