Chapter 18: Waiting for Me?

Your P.O.V

Who on Earth could be waiting for me??

I'm walking down the halls with my stuff waiting to see who's in the office. As I get closer, my heart starts beating faster and faster. The butterflies in my stomach aren't my usual ones. These are nervous. These aren't making me smile and giggle.

I approach Principle Nezu's office and knock. I didn't realize the door was cracked open, so when I knocked it creaked open. I decided to push it open from there and ask, "Hello? You wanted to see me?"

"Oh Miss Matoi, you're here! Come sit!" Nezu said excitedly.

"Oh uh, ok," I said confused at his excitement. I walk in and as I open the door completely I see my terrible excuse of an uncle. I slightly freeze at the sight of him and thoughts begin to flurry through my head.

What is he doing here? He never gave a shit about me so why is he here now?

I shake my head as if to get rid of my thoughts and sit down next to him.

"Would you like a cup of tea to get settled?" Nezu asked.

"Oh no thank you. I'm good," I politely declined. "But if you wouldn't mind me asking why is Uncle here?"

"The rat was just about to explain that." Uncle retorted.

Rat?! Does he have no shame?

"Well, we've heard what's happened to your mother and we know she was the only guardian in your household. Since you aren't of age we can't allow you to live on your own any longer."

"But, I'm not living alone. I'm staying at Mina's h-" I was cut off by Nezu continuing.

"So, we contacted your nearest family members and Mr. Ikari here agreed to look after you." Principal Nezu said, emphasizing 'so'.

"Does that mean I'm going to live with you now?" I ask while looking at Uncle.

"Eh, it's more like we're coming to live with you."

"We?"

"Huh? Oh, yeah. You have an aunt and cousin now. Ok now stop your yammering. We're going home now."

"Thank you Principal Nezu," I said and bowed.

"Anytime! Have fun now." He said waving us off.

After the meeting with Nezu, I managed to convince my Uncle to let me stay for the last round. I expected it to have already started but I guess I came in on break time.

I look around confused cause nothing was happening. The games weren't going. Did they finish already?

I walked up to Sensei and asked him who had won. He responded with, "No one yet, we've been waiting for you."

They stopped the whole tournament just to wait for me?! What if I didn't come back??

"That was very kind of you sir but you didn't have to do that. What if I didn't come back?"

"I knew you would."

What the? How?? "Ok, do you want me to re-group?"

"Mm"

Is that a yes or a no??? Very confusing today aren't you Sensei💢

I walked back to my group anyways or what I could find of them anyways. Why are they always scattered around the entire field?
