"Please. I don't want this, Chara!" she begged, tears flowing from her eyes, as she held ivory dust beneath her palms. He's gone. He was too innocent, too nice to be in this cruel world, and now, she was the bringer of his drastic fate. She sobbed once more, embracing the dust.
"Aww... But it is I who wanted this to happen, Frisk." giggled a voice inside her head, "It isn't your fault that silly skeleton died."
Frisk held her ears in annoyance. Yes, she didn't mean for this to happen, but she herself witnessed how her own hands held a knife, that cut off the head of her friend.
Why wasn't she careful before? She already knew that Chara was here. She knew from the start that something isn't right, that she felt something is amidst. How come she hasn't noticed the girl's strike? Just after noticing some signs, she came to know she was here. That demon is inside her. She was dancing in her thoughts all along, and hasn't even bother to notice that?
"How pitiful your situation is!" cackled Chara, curving her lips to a grin "I do wish I could help you, but I'm afraid I don't have a... body."
Frisk gulped at this, "Oh, please no!"
"So you've finally guessed what I was thinking. What a smart kid!" laughed Chara, as Frisk felt her patting her head.
Sobbing, she hoped for the best. To bring back Papyrus, even if it costs her life. She thought of giving her soul for Papyrus to use, but she knew too well that a monster isn't capable of holding 'Determination'.
"Hmm... I think you gave me an idea, sis!" exclaimed Chara, excitedly, "But giving your soul is just too cruel. Torturing while you are alive is way better. Like the sound of that?"
The broken-hearted child could smell something funny. She felt a deal crawling in front of her. A deal from a devil, that is. She is just too smart to know that she shouldn't be doing any agreements with someone like Chara, but she needed it more than ever. So with a heavy heart, she asked, "What do you want, Chara?"
"Good." Chara smiled with glee from this sudden retort, "All I wanted was credit, you know? I'll give you a chance to start over..." and with those words, a true reset button appeared right before Frisk's golden eyes.
"The credit of your victory shall be mine though. But fear not! Papyrus, as well as you will be alive. I could have my own body, no one could remember you, and..." she paused, while Frisk held her breath for her next words.
*"Whisper shall be your death. Make them realize, and it will both be your end." warned Chara, as she motioned Frisk to press the reset button.
The girl was hesitant. She clearly understood what she meant by that. She did not wish for her to be forgotten by the people she loved the most. And at the same time, she did not want to face Sans, without Papyrus standing by her, so with a soul full of doubt, she pressed the true reset button, and delivered the last words that could escape from her mouth.
"Papyrus... Please. Live. S..." she whispered, but as she was about to utter her best friend's name, light came to consume her. Her next pacifist run just started.
-------------------------------------------------------------
*To further explain the deal, in case anyone did not understand. According to Chara; on Frisk's next true reset, she must complete a well-played Pacifist run. Once she finishes her mission, she will become mute. Everyone but her, would not remember her, and all the good deeds that she has done during her run will be credited to Chara, who would also forget about anything that ever happen between them.
She must remain silent about the past times they have done with Frisk and the monsters together. Any monster who remembered about being with Frisk would receive a penalty of death, if Frisk was the one to tell the truth. Frisk would be the cause of this death (with Chara in clueless possession). If they were to remember because they found out themselves, not because of Frisk, then it would be the cause of both deaths; Frisk and the monster (Again, with Chara's clueless possession). So this practically means, no one from the latter could escape the consequences if they were to remember at any point.
What would happen if the monster finds out about a truth? He/she will remember and realize everything, from Frisk being their friend and the one who freed them all, to the deal she made with Chara; They will know the truth.
